porchcricket13
So my boyfriends birthday is coming up really soon, like 2 weeks from now soon. I have no money, I'm trying to save every penny so I can afford the trip we are taking next month. I want to do something besides get him some sappy card (which I always do anyway). I'm at a total loss!!! Some pertinent facts: Dear bf is a total nerd, not quite on my level but close. He is a music fiend, but downloads everything so giving him something on CD is out. He does collect vinyl, but that can be expensive. He is somewhat of a gamer. He doesn't read, like ever. Um, I don't know what else to say, but I really need help! Cooking for him that night is possible but hard since I can't get to him until like 8pm. HELP!!!!! cline
What about doing something on your trip for his birthday? we often "celebrate" by doing something special - your trip sounds perfect. A birthday dinner out and a souvenir t from wherever you are going. Cut out pics and put them in his card. Quote I AM going the distance 'Cause all I wanna do is go the distance. Nobody's ever gone the distance with Creed, and if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood. humanperson832
Maybe there's a nice picture of you two that you can have printed and then put into a nice frame? Nice picture frames can be had for pretty cheap, especially at places like Walmart and Target. My brother and I (which is to say, just I) got my mom a framed photo of our dog for Mother's Day and she just loved it. Quote Link to comment

porchcricket13
Umm, well, if you have no money you could just do something dirty for him... I have to say after 3+ years there is nothing reserved for special occasions, it would take some major out of the box thinking to come up with something new or rare to do for him in that context. I-Jo
still is special to do something nice like that on his BD. after 3 years with mine- I always tried to do SOMETHING for him- something I knew he liked. He wasn't big on my make up- so I would put on a nice dress- and really down play the make up aspect for dinner. food- picking up favorite steaks- you gotta eat- spend the extra 10 bucks and get his favorite. massage's are always appreciated. favorite movie- pizza and beer? always a win. bust out your best board game- and make it date night. build a fort- watch crappy movies with popcorn and ice cream. Guest CyborgNinja
Buy him a classic philosophy book. If he doesn't read... well, he should start. Quote Link to comment
