Let's do this, eh? Short introduction, first and foremost.

When I was in 8th grade, I was a bit on the heavy side at just above 200 lbs, 5'10". Not much of that was muscle, hah. But hey, I was a kid, and it came off easy enough in highschool.

Fastforward to 10th grade, and I'm on the wrestling and swimming teams. Wrestling was... intense, we'll say, and one year was enough for me. A stupid mistake left me with a fractured finger that still hurts my Guitar Hero ability, but damn I was in decent shape.  Well, for me. I could tag along on a 5 mile run without dying, which might not mean much to some, but I felt like a badass.

Fastforward again to 2013. Had lost all the muscle, and averaged 155 lb at 6'2". Was smoking at least half a pack a day.  Usually binge ate one huge meal a day, survived mostly off espresso. The first few months of 2013 were definitely a low point.

But the past two months have been awesome. My 21st birthday in June inspired me to get a second job, and I finally was able to move out of my parents house. I quite smoking, havent had a cigarette in more than a month. Feelin' like I got some momentum going.
(The second job was at a coffee shop, however, so my espresso habit hasn't exactly... dropped. But hey, baby steps.)

I was wandering the net aimlessley (like ya do) looking for workout information and eventually stumbled upon Nerd Fitness. Which was cool.  An perspective of exercise I could agree with.

Didn't really give it much thought, though. I've struggled with motivation more than anything, but in an article the idea of wasted potential just kinda... hit me.

Hard enough to put all this out in a public forum, which certainly holds me to a higher standard of accountability.

My goals are probably as follows:

  • Be able to run 5 miles (without stopping)
  • Be able to do 50 pushups (in one set)
  • Regain some lung capacity
  • Achieve any aspect of muscle definition.

Long term, of course. At the moment, I'll settle for 2 miles, 15 pushups in a row, and losing the muffin top.

As far as a plan goes, definitly gonna register for a six week challenge and join a guild. Adventurers to start out with, as I don't really know what I'd transition into. S'pose it'd be between Druid, Ranger, and Assassin, eventually...

Also, saw a forum called 'accountabilibuddies' or something... seems right up my alley, hah.
In the mean time, I think I'm gonna start with some of those beginner body weight circuts.  My rommie also has a sweet set of free weights that I can use, so can totally start playing with those tomorrow today. Oops.
Anywho, it's late and I'm rambling.

Thanks for reading... and if anyone has any tips for motivation, by all means, lay em on me, hah.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, the coffee habit's gonna be here a bit.  It's a whole new world... and the teas! The greens, oolongs, blacks, puers... hah.

Also, just *attempted* the beginner's body weight circuit.  Got my work cut out for me, hah.
