mightykendar
Did my first completely unassisted chin-up this morning (yes, only one thus far) and I came darn close to an unassisted pull-up! The last time I tried an unassisted pull-up (this past Saturday morning), I only made it up halfway, and today I was able to bring my forehead up to the level of the bar. Shouldn't be long now! Wicked excited! Quote Link to comment

mightykendar
Thanks, folks! I may be having minor surgery involving my thumb tomorrow, so I'm not sure if my pull-up pursuit will be temporarily sidelined or not...but I'll keep finding ways to work out, no matter what! Huntress
Definitely - and honestly I think once you've got your strength up to this level it'll be easier to get it back up after surgery. Good luck and hope the surgery (if it happens) goes well! Quote HuntressCurrent challenge - Rebels - Huntress lays the foundations"The effort yields its own rewards" - Data, Star Trek: TNG. Good luck and hope the surgery (if it happens) goes well! Thanks! It looks like it's actually going to be happening next Thursday. Hopefully the recovery period will be relatively short...I signed up to do an "adventure race" at my university in early October and I'd hate to have to bail. :\ Quote Link to comment
Jamin
Congrats! I'm currently struggling to get an unassisted pull up and chin up as well. I understand the struggle very well so I can appreciate the hard work you must have put into accomplishing it. Quote Link to comment

mightykendar
Just did a wall-assisted handstand and held it for a full minute -- I could never do anything like this before, ever in my life. It's a great feeling! Quote Link to comment
mightykendar
Not the prettiest handstand, but a step in the right direction... Quote Link to comment
Ghostthruster
Congrats on your un-assisted Chin and so very close pull up. Over the past few weeks i have been running off this program http://twentypullups.com/20-pull-ups_ilka-helo.pdf It is awesome. Start at week -2 and go from there, the negative pulls up (so stand at the same height as the bar and just lower yourself down as slow as possible) help so so so so so (have i said so yet???) much I am now at week 3 and cant bust out and 5 full pull-ups I am going to back to week one and start again because after week 3 you should be able to complete 9.
