DIY Stuff

Forgive me if this is elsewhere in the Off Topic Lobby...and feel free to move me, shake me, delete me if need be

In the interest of saving money my boyfriend and I have been taking on (or talking about taking on) various DIY projects.

We just finished homemade laundry soap! I'm wicked excited. We have 10 gallons of soap now...use 1 cup for large loads...that's a whole lotta clean clothes! Since we're both so active we do a lot of laundry. It works as well as soap one buys at the store so no loss in quality. Slightly time consuming near the end, but worth it.

Here is the link we followed: http://theurbanfarmingguys.com/diy-laundry-soap-20-cents-a-gallon

Anyone else have any great money saving or sustainability projects they want to share?

I try to avoid paying for things I'm perfectly capable of doing myself.

I love these sites for ideas and tips:

Besides my garden, as far as sustainability I've installed a rain barrel and re-routed the gutter to feed into it. Otherwise, I'm all about sustaining my wallet!
