Deadlift 405 pounds

Recommended Posts

I finally pulled 405 pounds.  I've been focusing on rep work for a while and didn't think I would be able to pull it off.  I had to wear straps, and I dropped it after I locked out because I was over excited, but I still did it.  I'll try to make the next one a cleaner rep with with a nice descent.  I feel like it's my birthday or something.  I just had to share this.  Thanks guys.

4 plates, woot! It wouldn't have been legal in competition with all the hitching, but your probably have the base strength to get there

Once you got past your knees, you extended your back way faster than your knees, which leaves the last part of the lift as basically a quarter squat. See how your hips drop right when you get past your knees? Don't want that. Try keeping the back angle closer to what it was before that point until your legs are a little closer to locking out. Adding some rack pulls to work just the top part of the movement with this focus could help.

Staci does it too to a lesser extent. I think it's why her lockout is the hardest/slowest part of the lift for her. See if you can spot it.
