Robzilla1983
I actually went out and watched semi-finals for a strongman competition last night. It's spread across 4 nights, and in different cities now so I won't catch the rest. They did only two challenges last night: deadlifting a car (highest reps in 1 minute), and keg carry (lots of moving heavy things back and forth, and putting them on a high table, for time). It was awesome. I realized today that it's the first sporting event I've ever gone to just for the sake of the sport itself. Usually that's not my thing, and if I go it's to cheer on someone (my wife curled for years), or a team. But it was awesome. Hopefully it'll come back next year. The best part? When I told my wife I was going her response was "Um, don't you need training to do that?" That's right, she thought I was competing Quote Link to comment
smurray
That is awesome! I love watching those events on ESPN. I do agree that your wife's comment is the best part. Robzilla1983
So you're competing next year, then? Ha! MAYBE in the amateur part They did easier versions of the events. I MIGHT have been able to do that. Probably could if I actually trained a bit. Don't know about carrying a 200 lb keg though Quote Link to comment
