red_pill
Hello, I'm Daniel and I'm a little different because I am actually very underweight and have been for many years. I have a medical condition that doesn't allow my body to absorb nutrients from food if gluten or dairy has been consumed. Now I can't seem to stop eating those types of food. Even though they're terrible for me. My biggest problem is that I tend to binge eat. A lot. And these episodes of binge eating are typically with gluten and dairy foods. I am currently 22 years old, 6'0" tall, and weigh 127 pounds. Someone my height and age should be 150-160 pounds. Since trying hard to gain weight in high school using supplements and eating all sorts of very unhealthy foods and then not gaining a single pound but lost 5 instead; I ended up giving up and staying the same for years till now. After finding this site I've had this new motivation because of this living your life like a rpg. I fell in love with the idea. Now I'll be training to be a Druid Assassin. Now, I'm quite the noob when it comes to forum posting so apologies for any errors done. But thanks everyone, if it wasn't for so many of your stories, I don't think I would have been able to take the first step. 1 Quote Link to comment
aeshnidae
Welcome, Daniel! I'm a forum noob, too. Would dairy-free breakfast smoothies help you absorb nutrients? My wife has trouble eating enough vegetables in general, and also can't have dairy. We got a Nutribullet and make green smoothies (spinach and/or other leafy greens, cucumber, lime, pear or apple, frozen strawberries and/or pineapple, coconut and/or regular water, and sometimes hemp protein powder). I thought the spinach would taste weird, but you actually don't taste it at all. red_pill
I'll have to try that! Do you know where I could find hemp protein in any stores? Or can you only purchase it online? I did some research on it and it sounds so much better than regular protein powder which my stomach NEVER did well with. Thanks for the input! Quote Link to comment
aeshnidae
I buy hemp protein at Wegman's, which is a grocery store in the northeast (I'm not sure where you're located). Vitamin Cottage (Colorado) and Vitamin Shoppe (nationwide, I think) also sell it. Nutiva Organic is the brand I purchase; it's also available from Amazon. My absolute favorite protein powder is Jay Robb, but it's only available in whey and egg protein. Super tasty, though.
