NerdyGator
Hello NerdFitness Forum! My story: In December 2012, I ran my first 5K and in April 2013, I ran my first half marathon. Fast forward to the present. I am training for more long distance races. I am running on a schedule at about a 10-11 min/mi training pace. I take yoga classes. Occasionally I will pick up some free weights or do body weight exercises. I would like to be faster and hope to run more regularly in between races, but otherwise I am pretty happy with my current fitness level. Why am I here? Nutrition. I have poor self discipline when it comes to nutrition. My hope is to use NFForums to keep myself accountable and to learn how to level up in fitness and in health. Nerdiness that I bring to the table: I am an academic technology specialist and work in a school library. I love to read and I am a huge HP nerd (have read #1 10+ times and my ringtone is the movie theme song). Other nerdiness: I got my first video game console (Super Nintendo) from 'Santa' when I was 7, my favorite video game is Mario Kart (N64), I joined math team in high school to be with friends, was in both marching band and orchestra my senior year, lived in the engineering dorm in college (as a non-engineer), took a LOTRO MOOC (lots of fun- see here), and my cat is named Pixel. I am interested in the gamification movement and think NerdFitness is great! Glad to be here with you all! Pavelluvs2eat
Your super nerd credentials are impressive! I hear you about nutrition, it's rough sometimes. I cook for me and my fiance, he is not as concerned about nutrition as long as it's tasty and filling. Luckily, I have been able to meet those requirements even with the changes I have been making to our diets. Glad to have you here, welcome! Quote My body tells me no, but I want more! I. Want. More!
