I've found it much easier to stick with bodyweight training than any sort of gym-based routine I've done, so I hope you have the same luck :)  As far as losing weight...even though it was a pain, tracking what you eat will really help.  I used a journal and input it into the My Fitness Pal website when I got the chance.  If you carry your smartphone with you everywhere, it may be easier to input it as you go.  Just make sure you look up your TDEE, account for activity, and from what I heard 500 down is a healthy place to start (depending on where you're starting from, I won't pry).
