NeuroBones
G'day, I have been a bit wary of joining up to this site because it meant that I would actually have to start exercise and be a responsible adult... Gaah! But you got to start from somewhere. I am chef in sunny Australia, working in an amazing cocktail and wine bar with amazing people. I am surrounded by incredible food and wine... my kryptonite :S As such in the last year I have started to gain a bit of weight and become quite lazy in my exercising to the point where I consider work to be exercise as I am on my feet all day. Cop out I know, but hey it worked (for awhile). I love my anime and old chinese films, as well as sci fi galore and will gladly get into hour long discussions about it. Also I am food nerd... if that is a thing. I love the science of food and get involved in manipulating science into making unexpected amazing food. Being an unfit chef isn't the best thing... hot kitchen, long hours, lots of lifting. Your body begins to hate you, as a result I would just go home and watch anime galore. But after my meeting my wonderful girlfriend (who has taken up olympic weightlifting :S) I realised I want to spend a long and healthy life with her, also I was getting tired of watching anime where everyone went on massive adventures.. I was missing out because I was unfit and lazy. So the goal....Drop the weight.Run 5 km in 20minsDo a ninja back flip 2 times in a row.Live a long healthy life with the girl of my dreams. 2 Quote Link to comment
TMedina
In the US, we call food nerds "foodies" - I'm not sure why, but there ya go. Welcome to Nerd Fitness! halixius
Welcome! Better to start now, because even if you slip you can come back to it, rather than just procrastinating forever. My cousin is a chef and he goes through ridiculous weight fluctuations. Congrats for taking the first step and good luck with the ninja flips.
