Wellness Careers?

Recommended Posts

Ok, so with so many of us continuously mentioning how we wish we could work in fitness/wellness/nutrition......

I figured lets start a job list! Maybe it can be a potential job for high school and college NFers, or a transition job for us working folks or even just a side step into a similar role that will help incorporate our passion for wellness whether it's fitness, nutrition or mental state.

Mental Health:

Psychologist

Psychiatrist

Counselor

Fitness:

Personal Trainer

Fitness instructor (yoga, Les Mills, Zumba, list goes on and on)

Gym Manager

Active Gear Tester (they exist!!)

Nutrition: (I'm drawing blanks here!)

Nutritionist

I work in an HR role at the moment and am hoping to work towards a CWP (Corporate Wellness Professional) cert in the next year or two. Although if I see any awesome ideas I may try to shift my career in that direction, lets keep the list going :D

Some of those would require extensive schooling, but others don't necessarily.

Web developer, or an awful lot of jobs that aren't really fitness related, but are if you do them for a smallish fitness company. I doubt the IT support guys for Nike really get that sort of "wellness vibe" telling people to restart the computer and plug the mouse back in, but for a smaller company, you sure do.
