Scotario
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but just got to share - loved my gym session in the basement tonight. I was joined by 2 of my kids (13 and 8, both boys) who decided to come and see what I was up to. They mimicked some exercises (with little/no weight), and we talked about what the exercises did, and why we do them. 13 year old is just starting PeeWee football, and younger one loves his ice hockey, so we discussed sport specific training etc - all whilst working through 2 cycles of my circuit and stretching. Made the exercise go faster, was more enjoyable and I loved discussing exercise and it's benefits with the kids. I'm giving the kids the woot! They've said they'll be there Thursday night for the next strength session - I hope so! ;-) G 1 Quote Link to comment
wanderbound
I think it's awesome that you're modeling thoughtful training practices for them... you definitely deserve a woot too! 1 Quote :: wanderbound ::Level 2 Gryffindor half-elf assassin & rider in The Wild Hunt STR: 4 | DEX: 2 | STA: 2 | CON: 0 | WIS: 4 | CHA: 1 ..... current (2nd) challenge! ..... epic quest! ..... “When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.†― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist Link to comment
Lady Aislyn
That's awesome! Kids fitness programs don't focus that much on strength building, so if you can hone their love of it early on in life they're sure to be successful as they grow. Kudos! 1 Quote High Elf-Rakshasa Assassin | LVL 16 | STR: 18 | DEX: 11 | STA: 13 | CON: 6 | WIS: 18 | CHA: 19 Link to comment
