Meat Shield trying to turn into an evasion "Tank"

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to introduce myself. I honestly can't believe a site like this exists. I've been a gamer most of my life, and unfortunately my body has taken the brunt of it. Between an office job and a divorce, the waistline has suffered. I started getting serious about weightlifting and losing weight about 8 months ago. I started at 315lbs and I'm down to 264lbs. I prefer the slow and steady approach. I hope in another 6 months I can post photos and a journal of my journey. I found others' success stories really keep me motivated and I hope I can do the same for other people too!

Right now I'm doing the Madcow 5x5 lifting routine and I'm using Intermittent Fasting for my diet. I started with SL5x5, but after I got my squat and deadlift past 300lbs and started seriously stalling, I switched to an intermediate program. I'm loving Madcow's and light running with my vibrams on off days.

Good luck on your journey, and never quit!

50 lb over 8 months is anything but slow and steady, you're killing it! My best non-noob squat gains ever came on my first round of Madcow after switching to it from SL 5x5, looking forward to seeing how you do.

Thanks Gainsdalf! I'm really digging Madcow. So far, I've been able to keep progressing, but I know eventually the diet will get me and I'll have to maintain till I reach my goal weight, then bump up the calories a little.
