Morrigainz
Can someone explain to me the difference between the different kinds of deadlifts? Conventional, straight leg, romanian, sumo, suitcase...I tried looking at them on YouTube and many of them just looked the same I'm clueless! Quote Level ? bigm141414
RDL: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/OlympicLifts/RomanianDeadlift.htmlDeadlift: http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/GluteusMaximus/BBDeadlift.htmlSumo: RDL starts at the top, and doesn't go all the way to the floor. Knees are soft but don't bend much. Deadlift starts at the ground and you stand up full and erect at the top. Sumo is a wide stanced dead lift where your hands are inside your knees. Much more use on legs than on back. Quote "Pull the bar like you're ripping the head off a god-damned lion" - Donny Shankle Link to comment
Morrigainz
Okay, cool, that helps. Are you supposed to lock your knees at the top? Does it matter? Quote Level ? bigm141414
For the deadlift, if knees, hips, and upper back do not completely extend, it can't be counted. Quote "Pull the bar like you're ripping the head off a god-damned lion" - Donny Shankle Link to comment
