empeg9000
Woot!! How long did it take you to work up to it? I will be going for it during the next six week challenge. Quote Check out my woodworking at peonywoodworks. Link to comment
tec1207
hrm... I don't really know. I've been trying since November to workout consistently (including doing a full pull up again), but I lost all motivation at some point twice along the way and stopped working out altogether. It's hard to say. Off and on, I'd say it's been about five months. Quote Theresa Two important questions to ask yourself every week: Did I run faster and farther this week than I did last week? WhiteVandal
Congrats! Something that helped me improve at pullups was (when I had no pullups left in me) hanging my chin up at the bar and letting myself drop as slowly as I could, then jumping to the bar again and dropping slowly again. 5 to 10 reps. That's an awesome milestone! tec1207
XD thanks for the kind words everybody.Book, good suggestion, I should mix up my pullups and do wide grip, or chins or something. And everybody with their goals, just don't give up! Like WhiteVandal suggested, the negatives really helped me. Also, just practicing A LOT (basically every time I walk by my hang-in-door-frame pull up bar I would make myself do a pull up (or attempt one, before I could do one). Book
In your honor, I walked over to that strange bar at the top of my squat rack, and attempted my first pull-up since basic training. My chin got somewhere in the vicinity of the bar, but then when I let go, it felt like my lats were detaching from my shoulders! This is gonna take some work. Quote Character and Epic Quest!
