IcePrincess
I have been here before, but I dropped off for a while. I'm back again, because I am at the end of my rope. I've suffered from depression for as long as I can remember. I've had ups and downs. I am currently suffering from one of the worst downs I've ever known. If I don't make some changes now, I believe I will reach a point of no return. I'll be unable to get back to a place where I feel happy. If that happens I'll be done. I feel alone most of the time. That is part of my problem and why I've come back to NF. I need to be part of a community that can understand what I'm going through and support me so I can get through the mud. Physically I'm not at my heaviest but I'm close. I'm at 318lbs. I have a loose outline of a plan currently. I'm going to use the community to help flesh it out. I'm going to be walking my dog, Zoey, regularly. In the next week I plan to be up to 3 miles at a time. I know I want to start lifting weights, but I'm not mentally at a place where I can go into the gym yet. I'm going to start doing some of the body weight exercises after I can get past the 3 mile walk. As for eating....I've started with limiting my sugar intake. I use food for comfort so it'll take a while before I can really get a handle on my eating habits. I guess that's all I have for now... Quote Link to comment

Red1263
Welcome back! I'm glad to see that you've decided to choose NF over wallowing in your own depression, that's no good for anyone! Walking and bodyweight exercises are a Fantastic start to fitness, But don't forget that good progress will be slow, but just know that no matter how slow you're moving forward, you are still moving forward. How far are you walking now? 3 miles might be a bit too much if you're not used to it. Remember to give yourself the time to build up and grow stronger, don't rush too much too soon. IcePrincess
I'm walking about 2.5 miles right now, so the extra half mile won't be that difficult to add in. 2 Quote Link to comment
