Hermione Gainser
Only cause I'm not on the market.Agreed. I'm not. BUT if I were and I were interested in pursuing a relationship with someone here I could do it without an area on the forum dedicated to dating. I'm sure others have done it Quote "I'm just going to remember to not eat like an asshole most of the time" - MoC three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: one must squat.- Brobert Frost Half-Elf Warrior | Current Challenge New Battle Log | Old Battle Log Special thanks to AkLulu for drawing my awesome avatar! Barbarossa
Hello,I am strongly opposed to closing down this section of the forum for all of the reasons that David has stated above. There were topics in the Men's Guild that bothered me as a man, but it was less than a month from open to close. The very fact that men have to trawl all of the forums and/or a "Men Only" mega-thread while women have a place to organize and discuss their gender-specific issues is unfortunate. As for your assertation that "responsibility was shared equally," why is the punishment not shared equally? Let the sports bras and soft cups and hormones, periods, birth control, and issues that men typically did not want to read about" be combined into a "women's" mega-thread in the off topic lounge along with the men's mega-thread. We're all adults that (I assume) know that there are differences between men and women, and we should be able to behave like adults when reading about topics that address the differences.Or, if the "5-10 complaints/day" was the driving factor, I would happily volunteer my services as the men's guild moderator.Favoritism is giving preferential treatment to one group over another. Though "responsibility was shared equally," then the fact that the women's guild wasn't closed down along with the men's guild is clear and indefensible favoritism. If you truly believe that "responsibility was shared equally," distribute punishment equally. Close the offending threads in both guilds, or close both guilds. That's fair and impartial given your expressed sentiments. You even say that you "did, however, move all threads that are not in the topic of hormones, periods, etc - to the off topic library along with the threads from the men's guild." While I'm going to pass by the implication that all of the threads in the men's guild were off topic, your solution was to move the off topic threads out of the women's guild and leave it while you closed the men's guild. Where is impartial moderation in that?If this is truly our forum, this should have been done publicly and with discussion, rather than a show of (I'm going to assume) unintentional favoritism and a closed doors decision by the management.Again, this is just my opinion on the matter. If you decide to bring it back and give it another chance, you have my offer to moderate it. This is a good community and I understand that difficult decisions have to be made, but if the blame lands equally, so should the punishment.Regards,Perry Quote Link to comment
msuroo
...punishment...favoritism...favoritism...punishment...favoritism...punishment...If this is really how you feel after a message board re-organization then maybe you need to take a step back for a minute. None of those threads are even gone. Quote Challenge thread Link to comment
