I did it! TWICE!

I can't quite believe it -- but I actually MADE my six-week-challenge goal of doing a dead-hang pull-up. I had made it about 3/4ths of the way up a number of times, and not been able to go any further at that point. So I told myself last night that I wasn't going to let go of the bar until one of two things happened: I did a pull-up, or my arms gave out. Giving up, calling it, letting go, deciding to try again later -- none of those was an option; just two ways out of hanging there for hours on end.

The other thing I did differently was I didn't hang in the dead hang for a long time -- I lifted my feet, extended my arms to a full hang, and immediately "bounced" back up again.

And I did it! It wasn't pretty, or fast, but it was done.

And I would have posted this last night, except I was fairly convinced I must have done something wrong -- jumped up at the beginning, or something. So I waited until this morning and tried again. And I did it again! I had been so completely convinced just a day or two ago that I simply wasn't going to get the pullup done before the end of the challenge . . . and now to have done it just blows my mind.

Can I get a WOOT?

2013 Running Tally: I lost track in July, at 148.925  ((plus 0.5)) but I finished a Very Slow marathon in October. Then I mostly stopped.
2014 Running Tally: 134.1 miles plus 5k (as of 17 September) lost track again, but I know I had at least 147.2 plus 5k for 2014.
2015 Running Tally: 41.2 treadmilled miles & 251.93 real world miles

2016 Running Tally: 0
