leadchipmunk
Assuming a fire extinguisher isn't handy, there are two ways to quickly put out a grease fire. Assuming it's in a pan, one way is to put a lid on the pan. Another way is to throw baking soda on it. (Not flour or sugar, by the way. Both of those are very combustible.)Don't go for non-dairy creamer either, that is just as flammable as flour. But you can use salt. That's what I had to resort to when I got a grease/propane fire on my grill. Cut the gas and douse the burning grease with salt. TheOtherScott
The plan - and I just asked my wife what it is - is to "get the living things out the window, I guess".It's a pretty fair point. We're in a small apartment right now, and the most valuable item we own is probably our computers. We have two or three things that have a lot of sentimental value, but not much else.
