Maleficarum
i am fond of the Action Horror genre (Blade, Underworld, Resident Evil, etc). I also like classic horror (Universal Studios and Hammer Film movies). And of course... everyone loves horror-comedy (Shawn of the Dead). spencer_
I LOVE HORROR. But movies never do it for me. They never scare me or unnerve me, and I'm actually not a huge fan of horror comedy myself. The Resident Evil movies (2 on up) were a joke, but the video game series is now too. I have mostly stuck to horror literature and German/Japanese horror since they seem to like to go farther than Hollywood. KAllen
Used to be more into it than now. Loved the lowbudget slasher flicks from the 70s & 80s. Of course the classics of the 80s (Jason, Freddie, Michael). The Rob Zombie movies I really love...Halloween, H2, House, Devils Rejects. The old school Universal flicks always kick ass!!! smazzon1
My dad had us watch those old time-y movies like Dracula, Frankinstein (I like the book better though), Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc. Plus he had a couple of Vincent Price films that creeped me out too haha. I get scared really easily but I kind of love it. The latest movie I watched was "Excision" and though it isn't really a horror movie it's gory nonetheless. "If you die, you die. andygates
I do love me some zeds. Failing that, extreme OTT gore. If it's not sloshing over the heroine from a bucket or hose, it's too high-concept. Link to comment
illuminatus
Give me some old school George R Romero Zombie movies, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead etc. The very first Zombie movie I ever watched was the original black and white Night of the Living Dead and I have loved the Zombie genre ever since. Having a Zombie Walk for Charity in NC close to where I live so may go to that other wise, celebrating Halloween with some Call of Cthuhlu Roleplaying. Also love the old Bela Lugosi and Boris Karlof films. Guest Snake McClain
I gotta tell you I love all kinds of horror. Here are some of my favorite picks.1) Rosemary's Baby (which I desperately want to watch like...today).2) Christine3) American Werewolf In London (that movie is about andy gates isn't it?)4) Last House On The Left (original)5) Halloween I & II. No Others.6) 28 Days Later7) High Tension (even though no one else on the earth likes this movie I swear)8) ItThose are just the ones that quickly spring to mind. Link to comment
Radiata
freaking Cthluhu man! Re-animator and all that jazz. Also, The Fourth Kind. Somehow, it managed to scare and unnerve the hell out of me, specially the "posession" scenes will all the static, the voices and backstory. Just imagine that! the creators being jealous of their creations, just embrace that sense of hopelesness and abandonment. Don´t have plans for Halloween, maybe I´ll be slugging dishes that night. But there is a Zombie Walk on the 20th! As a former /x/ phile I just remembered this weird-ass horror movie in black and white and just special FX, but the name eludes me. It told the story of a sacrificed god and its childalso, this http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/582867 Link to comment
Maleficarum
i have had to curtail the amount of horror i watch in my house... little ones and all. In the last few years i have had to make do with rewatching spooky episodes of xfiles and enjoying the greatness of Dr. Who. Ambient, spooky horror is preferred to the violent, blood and guts style torture-porn that is making the rounds the last few years. Anyone watched "Cabin in the Woods"? Cruella T'Kill
Cabin in the Woods was already on my list, sounds like I made a good pick!I love anything with zombies, I don't know why. Away from the "mainstream" z-flicks I would recommend Dead Snow. It's got Nazi zombies, need I saw more?I do enjoy gore, but if a movie can make me uncomfortable and squirmy without it, then they've done their job. Some of my favs:Rocky Horror Picture ShowDawn of the DeadThe MistMartyrsAliensHalloween (the original)RecBattle RoyaleSaw Level 4 Amazon WarriorSTR: 16 | DEX: 5.75 | STA: 9.5 | CON: 9.25 | WIS: 7.5 | CHA: 7.5FITOCRACY The best activities for your health are pumping and humping. - ArnoldQuoth the raven "One rep more" - Edgar Allan Bro Link to comment
maegs
I can't do anything with ghosts & whatnot (eg. Amityville Horror, Paranormal Activity) - Supernatural (the tv show) is about my limit with that stuff. Gore doesn't bother me at all, Action Horror is probably my favourite (and comedy horror, like Maleficarum!). Artinum
Anyone watched "Cabin in the Woods"?Oh yes. Delightfully hokum for most of it, deliberately treading the usual horror tropes, and then turning utterly insane for the last half hour.I love a good horror film. I find them hilarious, and there's a great satisfaction in finding out how the next obnoxious teenager is going to be splatted.Paranormal Activity, however, is not a good horror film. It was boring, pointless and seemed to ooze a smugness about how much money it was making for what was basically absolutely nothing happening for 95% of the film. And... there... are... now... FOUR of them.I blame that awful Blair Witch Project, myself. It's the same film, in a different (cheaper!) setting. Failing that, extreme OTT gore. If it's not sloshing over the heroine from a bucket or hose, it's too high-concept.Always hilarious. Ever seen a comedy horror called "Braindead"? It's about zombies. Sort of. And it's deeply, deeply gross. What happens when you play Final Fantasy VII with everyone called Cloud? It gets quite confusing... https://ff7crowdofclouds.wordpress.com/ Link to comment

Cruella T'Kill
I watched the Season 3 premier of Walking Dead last night. Duuuuuuude, so much zombie carnage! I have to remind myself that they likely used a third of their FX budget on this one episode, so can't expect to be seeing that every week. Still, I'm excited to see what they do with the characters this season since they are only loosely following the graphic novels. My only beef is with the zombie attack at the end. These guys have obviously been around the block, why aren't they double-tapping those motherf@#kers!?
