Thumbnail species lay maybe 5-7, some other species of darts have been known to lay 17-20. Vian Posted March 28, 2013 Author Report Share Posted March 28, 2013 Well, all 4 of the babies are out of their cups and exploring the grow-out tank. There is one more that is still a tadpole and has not popped it's front legs yet, so eventually there will be 5 babies. And one of the azureus tadpoles. These are the ones I was taking pics of as they developed inside the eggs. They hatched a week ago and are growing fast! Vian Posted April 16, 2013 Author Report Share Posted April 16, 2013 Not much to update because I can't really get any pictures. The baby vents are being very hidey and not coming out much. I only see one or two of them every other day or so. But when I do see them they are fat and getting bigger, so I know they are fine. The Azureus tadpoles have gotten much bigger. The oldest ones are about 1/2" wide x 1.25" long with tail and are just starting to show the first little nubs of back legs. This is the first one that I raised from egg to froglet It's sibling is only a few days behind. If you notice the date on the tape right over the first one's head, it says 3-20, which is the hatch date, so exactly 61 days from hatching to morphing out.
