andygates
I was just checking my powerlifting fed site for contests and such, and glanced over the official results for the day. Mine were red. What's this? Drama? No, red is for divisional records. Good lawd. Yes, by virtue of being the only big guy to enter, I get palmares that were left unclaimed. It's a small rural division within a fairly small sport - a lot of people lift, but not many compete. Of course, it gives me something to beat and be a RECORD BREAKER next time... Link to comment
WizardTrip
HA! WOOHOO! Grats! I wouldn't care if I were the only one that entered, I'd still frame it. Everstorm
I love that! Same thing happened to me at my first 5K. Only 5 runners in my age division, and the 1st place runner didn't count in the division, since she also took 1st place overall female. So my finish qualified for 3rd and I medalled! (I cried, I was so shocked.) Some people laughed, but I didn't care if I took first place in the division of women aged ## with brown hair whose name starts with "P" (just kidding, it wasn't that narrow a field), I still got my medal. It really motivated me to keep it up. So good for you, and I'll be watching for that Record Breaker Title to come!
