Frack you, Depression.

Thrift store hunting can be overwhelming, but it is definitely worth the time. I tend to use them a lot for transition clothing (the only downside to losing weight - my pants don't fit), and have had luck finding dresses. Other styles may change too quickly, but certain types of skirts and dresses are always in style. I'm not sure where exactly you live, but Laurel has two decent thrift stores, and there are Salvation Army stores all over MD.

 

I would begin by picking one item to look for, like a dress or a pair of pants. It keeps you focused and limits how much of the store you have to go through. Might help the overwhelming factor a bit.
