BetaMale
After a few weeks away from the gym, I started back a couple of days ago, with predictable results - some good lifts, but now I have incredible DOMS. At the gym today, I was basically just a waste of space. Accomplished nothing. My question is: how do you lovely ladies and gentlemen deal with this? Do you take a few days for it to abate before working out again? Do you push through it regardless? Or do you have an Option C? Quote Link to comment
Duality
Simply put, take it easy, listen to your body, if you need an extra day take it. The soreness will go away and be less intense after each workout (to a certain point). Quote It's not 80% diet, 20% exercise, it's 100% diet, 100% exercise. Give it your all. Metalhead
I generally have a threshold in regards to DOMS that if I feel the DOMS are across the threshold for the group I plan on working I will give them some extra time to rest. Up to that point I will try to work through it, but will pay close attention to how it feels in the first couple of reps. After a while they will the extreme DOMS will subside as Duality said.
