From good to great - a new start

Recommended Posts

Greetings, fellow nerds and fitness enthusiasts!

Mathias here (or Matt for short), 20-year-old Swedish kid with illusions of grandeur.

The story: As the son of a physical education teacher, I was introduced to the concept of training and eating right at a young age, and as a consequence, I've always been in fairly good shape. I've always been "the strong guy in the class", despite being one of the biggest gamer nerds around. As of late, though, I've been doing a lot of long-term travelling, and it's hard to find either the time or the place to work out while on the road. This has led me to get quite a bit out of shape, compared to the shape I was in earlier.

Now that my travels are over though, I've decided to develop every last area of my life to awesome levels - starting with the physical part. Finding this forum, my inner geek fell in love with the concept and convinced me that this would be the perfect place to find the help and motivation I need to reach physical awesomeness.

So anyways, as the post title would suggest, I'm not starting from the bottom here, as I still have some sort of basic fitness left. What I want to do, though, is go from simply being good, to being the very best I can be!

Goals:

  • Get back into the shape I was in two years ago
  • Surpass that shape
  • A series of solid goals, such as being able to do 100 push-ups, 20 pull-ups, bench 100kgs, run 10km in 40 min and do the human flag (hey, gotta aim for the stars, right?)
  • And, of course, satisfy my vanity by getting that elusive sixpack
