New and totally confused!

Recommended Posts

Hiya

As the title would suggest I'm new here, and I'm pretty dam confused! :playful:

I came onto the forums thinking "ok, so I assume this is where people just post about what they're doing and ask for help etc".  Well looks like this place is  alot more involved than that! So, I see FAQ, click on that naturally, and I see "When are the upcoming challenges" what?  There are challenges?  Challenges that you sign up to?  Sounds great, but I still don't really understand.  How do these work?

Also, Guilds?  "What's all this "guild stuff about"?"  well, so far I haven't found anything that actually answers that question, just the actual guild recruitment forums, which I've learned a little about from reading but I feel I'm still missing some crucial information as I still don't really understand.

Maybe it's because I've never been on a role-play site before?  But I really could do with a totally newby noob idiot proof FAQ that assumes the only thing that I know is how a basic internet forum works.

Thanks for the help!  This place really looks exciting and I can't wait to get involved!

Hi. Fellow newbie here. Maybe I can answer some questions as I understood them.

1.) Challenges: At least with this upcoming one starting Monday, there are challenges that last 6 weeks. You make a "quest" that you want to accomplish in that time frame (or if it takes longer, that's cool too I think). But the point is to come up with a goal and then come up with highly specific steps that you will take to accomplish said goal. There are specific threads to post on depending how long you've been here and if you've done challenges before.

2.) Guilds: My understanding is that these are smaller communities within the "Rebellion" that consist of people who all have similar goals based on their body type or desired outcome of doing the challenges and stuff. For example, I aim to be in the Warrior guild because that's my overall goal...heavy lifting, strength building, and power. Other guilds have different goals based on that class they relate to.

Does that make sense? I hope this helps. Others may have a better understanding, especially those who've been here longer than a couple days like me.

Nothing that is worth doing is ever going to be easy.

Hello!

As Theonlyhoss explained, each challenge is a personal thing. You essentially challenge yourself to reach a certain goal a certain way. Youcan check the appropriate thread for an explanation.

As for the guilds, it's just for fun and to find people with similar interests. You are under no obligation to choose a guild, it's just fun and games. The basic breakdown is this:

Assassins: bodyweight training, parkour, gymnastics and similar activities.

Warriors: weight lifting, body building, pure strength building.

Monks: martial arts traning.

Druids: yoga, tai chi and other disciplines that combine the physical and spiritual.

Rangers: a bit of everything, jack-of-all-trades style athletes.

Scouts: running, hiking, swimming, etc. These people are all about going somewhere far.

Adventurers: The newbie guild! Where you can go until you decide what you want to specialise in, if you want to specialise.

Anyway, welcome to the forums. Keep us posted on your progress!

Stay sharp!
