Mr_Willes
Nailed the 3:00. For now it's not getting easier. My body started to shake after 20 seconds. It's not getting easier although this one went a lot better than the one i did yesterday. Next one will definitely be with shoes on, losing the grip from your toes is not very handy. On to the 03:10 tomorrow! Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment

Mr_Willes
Okay so maybe the socks were the problem. I kept slipping away and had to reposition myself a lot and that took some effort. Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment
erosan
ah yes, I see how socks could trip your plank. Xik
Hullo! I'd like to join this if poss My core strength, frankly, sucks ass and I want to change that. So I've decided to add planks to my workouts - I'll try to follow the calendar posted in the first post... Try! I'm doing the 6 week challenge that starts tomorrow but going to the gym later and I'll do Day 1 then. Action this day! -Xik Quote Link to comment
Mr_Willes
Yesterday no plank, as my son's birthday got me pretty occupied all day (no regrets ) Saturday nailed my 03:10 plank with reasonable ease. So today i'm gonna jump to the goal i set for "pre-6WC" and try the 3:30. Have to determine what to do with this challenge after that. Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment
Tanuki
I would like to join I don't normally have a problem with a 30 sec plank, but I currently have a shoulder issue which prevents me holding the position for long. However, I need to exercise it, and increasing my plank time is part of that. This should be a real encouragement! I'll post my first time after my workout today. Mr_Willes
Just did the plank i set out for: 3:30sec. It was hard today. Allthough i made my goal i set out 1,5 week ago i'm gonna keep on doing planks till i hit the 05:00 mark. Now to get me one of those nifty progress bars in the signature (my prize for reaching my own-set-goal). So Erosan looks like you're stuck with me a little longer Btw how's your plank going? According to your progress bar still at 04:00? Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment
Mr_Willes
No luck today with the plank only 190 seconds that's 20 second less and stretching it already. Curious to see if tomorrow can be better... Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment
Xik
Sticking with the 30-day progression and did 30 secs today. Previously I started shaking around 10 sec... not tonight might help that I haven't been to the gym today. I'll see how it goes! Quote Link to comment
Mr_Willes
Even worse than yesterday. Gave it my all and could only come to 180 (03:00). That's 30 second less than the day before yesterday, and 10 sec difference with yesterday... Hoping it's the fact that i worked out yesterday, tomorrow next try, don't give up. practice makes perfect! Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment

Mr_Willes
A resting day does the body good: Aimed for my record 03:30 on 03:45 my body really started shaking, so pushed it to 04:03 (81%) just because... 1 Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment
Mr_Willes
I just did a quick maintenance-plank today, got to 180 seconds. I'm not really enjoying the planks... but . i . want . to . hit . 300 . secs so untill then, bring on the TORTURE Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment
Mr_Willes
Pfffff the plank was hard on me again today... Just barely stretched it to the 180 seconds. I'm hoping this will train me into a one-time berserker mode plank of 05:00. It's feeling like a chore but i am gonna make the 05:00 (or die trying! ). Searched a little on "how to train planks" and found that some people do different plank routines. They say it's harder physically, but i think mentally it will help to do more time: front elbow plank (FEP)FEP w/ right arm elevatedFEP w/ left arm elevatedFEP w/ right leg elevatedFEP w/ left leg elevatedright arm and left leg elevatedleft arm and right leg elevatedright side plankleft side plankright side plank with leg upleft side plank with leg uptop of pushup position (TOPP)TOPP w/ right arm upTOPP w/ left arm upTOPP w/ right leg upTOPP w/ left leg upTOPP w/ right arm and left leg upTOPP w/ left arm and right leg upright side plank, elbow lockedleft side plank, elbow locked So starting tomorrow i'm gonna try this, even if it's just a training method for a 05:00 Front Elbow Plank. lairpie
hit 3:30. It actually seems to be getting easier, not harder the farther i go, like i was aiming for 3:00, then felt i could do more, so i was going to do 3:20 and be 2/3 there. I almost feel like i stopped at 3:30 just because i was bored, but could have done more. When i first started working out again 10 months ago, getting rom around 30s to 60s seemed really hard, now it almost seems easier to make bigger jumps. I think tomorrow i may just try to go right to 300 and see what happens. Mr_Willes
It's never to late to plank! And i would recommend doing the plank before stronglifts. To me it mattered a whole bunch whether i was rested or not! But hey everybody is different! Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Link to comment
