Any senior citizens around here?

Hi! I'm Gracie, probably a senior citizen compared to most of you! I haven't done much gaming, but am definitely a nerd. I'm 57, overweight and out of shape, and looking to change that. I was in great shape about 10 years ago after working with a trainer for several months. I love weight training, and am looking forward to getting back into it. I hope to use the dumbbells and barbell I have at home as much as possible, but I now live in a second floor apartment... We'll see how that goes. If that doesn't work, I have a membership at Planet Fitness that has gone largely unused for the last year. I'm undecided between Warrior and Ranger, will make that decision later if that's ok. Hope there's room here for an old lady! I look forward to learning my way around and getting to know some new people as I journey toward strength and stamina!

Welcome to the forums Gracie! I think there's plenty of room. Age doesn't matter at all. There was, in fact, a guy who started powerlifting late in his life and even competed at a pretty high level. Roy Mason deadlifted 545 pounds at the age of 76! Not saying you have to go become a super elite powerlifting competitor or anything, just that age doesn't have to limit everyone! 

 

Keep active around here. Branch into other sections of the forum and keep posting!
