wallisar Posted May 3, 2015 Report Share Posted May 3, 2015 I'm a 30-year-old nerdette who has finally decided to do something about getting healthy! I'm eating better and have started walking a few times a week. I'm actually going out of my way to eat vegetables for the first time in my adult life! I don't have a lot of weight to lose necessarily but I lead a pretty sedentary life and I'm really out of shape. One flight of stairs leaves me winded! I want to build up my endurance and gain control over my body and my health. I'd eventually like to do some strength training and work my way up to the Charlottesville Spartan Super (which I've heard is crazy) but I'm focusing on baby steps right now. I'm a huge movie dork (sci-fi and fantasy are my faves but I'll give anything a chance). I have the coolest most wonderful dog in the world and would love to start embarking on a fun fitness journey that she can join in too (camping, hiking) although I don't really know what I'm doing quite yet. I've loved visiting this website for years and enjoy reading the articles and comments incorporating the things I love (Star Wars, LOTR, Avengers, etc). I'm excited to officially stop solely lurking and to start my own journey towards a healthy new me. I welcome any comments and suggestions from fellow nerds! 1 Quote Link to comment
