I'm 29 and an energy engineer. So while I spend most of my days in front of a computer doing math and stuff.  I spend 1-3 days out in the field: on roofs, construction sites, in crawlspaces, boiler rooms, etc. Climbing and crawling into tight spaces is not out of the ordinary.   Seriously tho I enjoy it, it makes me feel like a badass.

 

I've been overweight all my life. Though I had weight loss surgery in 2002 and have kept off about 150lbs of that away still a good 100lbs to go,  I lost 40lbs last year (first year at this job) but gained 20 back recently due to a bad bout of anemia and other defiencies.  I'm having to do weekly blood and iron transfusions, it sucks.

 

Trying to get back to working out 3x a week and off of transfusions.

Welcome & congrats on your previous progress!

I'm also trying to get back on track with working out 3 times a week. I didn't have anemia but I've been having chronic pain problems.

Good luck on working out and look forward to seeing more of you! :)

 

And if you want to do some mutual hassling on the working out 3x, I'm in. :D

Welcome! Your job actually sounds like a nice compromise between the sedentary office life and constant manual labor. Hopefully it both helps keep you active, and doesn't wear you out too much. Good luck on your goals.

That's one of the things I love most about my job, the combination of office and field work. it can make scheduling gym time kind of hard since my schedule is always different but that's one of the things I am working on during my first challenge

Hardest part for me is my random schedule. Not quite up to working out after most field days but I'm gonna work it out. pun so intended
