Thorngwenny Posted June 6, 2015 Report Share Posted June 6, 2015 Hello there everyone, my name is Thorn. I'm new here to the forums, though I've been reading the Nerd Fitness articles for some time. I'm a bookworm, video game enthusiast, and general awkward introvert living in North Carolina. Having just turned thirty a few weeks ago, I've somehow managed to start picking up momentum and this is one part of that. Having a community of people that support one another in the goal of being healthy is something I've craved, and having only one friend in town hasn't made that easy. The social isolation has been a big part of the depression that has kept me at home. My goal is to lose forty pounds in twelve months, from May 1st 2015 to May 1st 2016, so that I can be in a body I'm comfortable with by the next anime convention my husband and I attend together. I want to have more energy and stamina when it comes to walking around and being active all weekend and not feel like I'm out of water when I'm not on my couch! Forty pounds is just sort of a number to attach so I have something concrete, I'm more concerned with my shape, and how I feel about myself. I am around 180 pounds now (at 5'6") and I know years ago when I was around 140 I felt and looked much better. So it's a start as far as goals go!
