PMyrrh
Last night I threw on another 5 lbs to the bar like normal, but it didn't go as planned. I had been carting around Car rotors for about an hour and 150lb was a new PR for reps. Luckily I was able to hold it up with my abs while I took off the lower plates. Think I might look into DIY safetys now, haha.SURVIVAL! 3 Quote Lvl 4 Dragonborn (Dungeons and Dragons not Skyrim) Warrior STR:8.5 DEX:3 STA:10.5 CON:7.5 WIS:5 CHA:4 MyFitnessPal (Looking for NerdFitness PPL) Current Challenge Completed:PMyrrh's Viking Winter PMyrrh's Path of the Persevering Paladin Brazen and Unabashed 5 minute Spartan Plank 50/50 SquatsCOLD ASS VIKING CHALLENGE: 30/30 100% 100% Link to comment
bim
Yay for surviving! I used to do the roll of shame pretty regularly - I've decided to bench more conservatively until that glorious day when I manage to get my own power rack.An hour of lugging cast metal parts around sounds like a workout in itself! 1 Quote balance in mind ... body in motion ... making inertia my bitch Lv.2 warmonkey | 2 STR, 3 STA, 3 DEX, 5 CON, 4 WIS, 2 CHA Challenges: Current | Previous Link to comment

Vilegrin
I've had friends leave one side with out a clamp on it so if things went bad they could dumped the weight. Sure it's loud as hell but you can get out from under it. 1 Quote Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. - Douglas Adams Link to comment

El Exorcisto
I bench in my power rack. When a bench failure happens it is pretty anticlimactic. I'll never get why most every gym squat rack has safety rails or pins but I've never seen a bench in the wild with any safeties. I've never heard of anyone dying from a failed squat but it's not at all uncommon for someone to get got on the bench. Polaris
I'll never get why most every gym squat rack has safety rails or pins but I've never seen a bench in the wild with any safeties.I, on the other hand, can't recall ever seeing a bench without safeties. The idea of benching without them seems insane and terrifying to me. Sometimes I would like to do some kind of a poll to research in which countries/continents they tend to put safeties to benches and where they don't. Bullroarer Took
I have only had to do the roll of shame once but I don't push it too hard without a spotter. It can be scary, especially late night solo. Quote "For us, there is no spring. Just the wind that smells fresh before the storm." Just remember that Scooty Puff jr sucks! Link to comment
