Current: Second challenge Nov 2nd, log start here.

 

 

First challenge, September 20th - October X log

☆ Sept 20 is when I joined, 6 days later than the start but better late than never. I suppose this can be when I start. A brief journal entry then catalogging my meals and activity are what can be expected. I'll make each post a months worth I think...

Food: diced tomatoes and eggs w/pinch of cheese, mudslide, dinner at sofa's so lots of galupse & dolmas, 3 chocolate covered cherries, 8oz coffee with a sneeze of cream

Exercise: 10min walk though I suspect it was 7 because my husband is sneaky and got a new pocket watch that he wouldn't show me when I asked for the time... >u<

I wasn't expecting to dive into NF today but it happened. I really need to grocery shop and donate the foods I won't be eating. Anywho, not a bad start. ♡

☆Sept 21, 2015

Evidently I can't edit the above post so fine! No perfectly organized logs! -twitch-

I'm so excited for wednesday! I go grocery shopping and can start the whole 30. 80/20 has been no problem though. Actually I am feeling pretty good already. The whole 30 may be unnecessary but I wanted to challenge myself.

Food: galupse, dolmas, chicken, carrot hash, tea, russian salad, mudslide, apple

Exercise: 3 sets of 10 wall push ups, 5 assisted lunges each leg, 10 squats, 15min walk

The last little bowl of my precious mudslide is gone yet I am okay with this. I don't like keeping sweets in my home anyway, especially not when I have a whole 30 approaching.

The wall push ups were inspired of course, by Steve's article on the different kinds. I have such a way to go before I'm moderate, let alone healthy. However, as tough as it was (and humbling), I am very glad I did it.

Completed recruit mission 2. Thank god for the 3rd option because I am so bad with groouuppsss -winces- Starting my whole 30 tomorrow. ;u; Yay! Husband and I found a neat little park trail thing near our apt, so that is cool. Im thinking of making it a geocache...

Food: chicken, carrot hash, tea, apple sauce, tiny bit of pork fried rice, hot n sour soup, general tso chicken, broccoli

Exercise: walking 18min, 10 wall push ups

Started whole30 today! It was a little challenging because we couldn't go grocery shopping til late day and my hunger plus weird addiction to sugar/carbs immediately went into panic mode at the idea of whole30 instead of 80/20. But it still was a success.

Food: a LOT of chicken stir fry, swig of my own apple juice

Exercise: 12min walk

Side note, cannot wait til we can move in to a safer neighborhood. Walks by myself are a dream at this point. -sigh-

Day two of whole30. Can't complain, way better than yesterday. Got the intro NF email from Steve that says do the beginner body weight circuit, which I did! I find that having someone giving me "homework", even if it is just an email prompt, really motivates.

Food: pork sausage, eggs, pork links, cucumbers, tomatoes, vinegar, greek yoghurt, splash of maple, brusselsprouts, 20 grapes (for curiosities sake...79 grams protein! Not bad for me.)

Exercise: 14min walk, beginner body weight circuit(15/20, 08/20 squats, 10/10 x2 wall push ups, 10/10 x2 each arm dumbbell rows, 10/15sec, 08/15sec plank, 30/30, 20/30 jumping jacks, 05/20, 0/20 each leg assisted lunges) + 5min warm up

My body is screaming jello if you can imagine such a thing! I paced around my apartment instead of going outside. Still worked up a sweat.

Food: half a sweet potato, cod, tomato/caper/parsley butter sauce, yellow squash, 2 pork links, avocado, banana, 10 dates, 2 egg broccoli omelette

Day 10 of whole 30 :D hurray!

Food: pumpkin bites, brusselsprouts, egg, pork sausage, 3 fingerling potatoes on accident (potatoes are primal, so it doesn't break the primal whole30, but I personally was opting not to have them...hmm not sure if I messed up for real or not. I didn't even know they were there. Lol), half a sweet potato

I am doing terribly at eating enough but I can't get to a grocery store because of my husband. Blargh.

I am having a hard time eating enough. Plus my back slipped, so standing long enough to cook now is a challenge, but I managed a painful walk. Though I would call it a "pacing back and forth". Thankfully movement is encouraged with my particular kind of back problems.

☆ October 8th, 2015

 

Okay so today was a super duper busy day rearranging furniture and decorating for Halloween! Six hours! I made CERTAIN to have a hefty breakfast and my sweet husband made a nice hearty dinner cause I was too tired to cook. Busy busy. I am very pleased to say that I walked at least 15 min consecutively and did lots of lifting with my legs.

 

Food: huge 3 egg broccoli omelette, sweet potato x2 (way more than I usually even want but low on groceries, shopping tomorrow), peas, chicken

 

Exercise: as I mentioned above, at least 15min walk and lifting. Hurray!

 

My back is still giving me issues but luckily I have the exercises and stretches from my physical therapist which have helped a lot.

I plotted challenge 2 today. Very very nervous and excited. I am more unsure of wether or not I will meet my 20lbs goal........ sigh...

 

Tomorrow I will measure myself. Maybe they will show progress?

Food: zucchini, eggs, chicken sausage, yellow squash, few bites of apple, swig of apple juice, collard greens, brusselsprouts

 

Exercise: 10min walk 

 

Eating is improving. I also made a tasty like to-go omelette quiche-esque batch so I always have SOME kind of protein goodness with broccoli for fiber. Just pop it in the microwave and voila.

 

Trying to make sure I really eat enough and have enough available to me for moments of fatigue or depression.
