cokemachine
hello. i live in the south and i am "40ish" male and looking forward to participating. i found the nerd fitness site when i was looking for a good weight workout routine. i am completely overweight but i am getting better everyday. i started eating right on 7/28. i started walking and lifting weights about 2 weeks later. my light turned on when, after two days of outdoor activity for work, (really sweating my behind off)i was at an event and saw another guy pass out from the heat. it really hit home for me and i have been trying to get healthier and lose weight everyday. i see a doctor from time to time and i use the eating plan he gave me. no sugar, no soda, no carbs, plenty of lean protein and vegetables. salads. lots of effing salads. i don't usually weigh myself but in 2 months i have lost 2 pants sizes and i feel better. ive been lifting 3x a week. i do circuit training...3x12 of dumbell squats, bench press, leg extensions, seated row, shoulder press. i try to walk a mile everyday. i do not have a workout partner or even someone to ask questions and advice, so i guess that is why i am here in the forum. cheers! 4 Quote Link to comment

The lone wolfie
Hi Welcome to the rebellion. Weigh or measure yourself with a tape ( waist, hip, arms and thighs) or finding body-fat percentage. Measuring is better than weighing because weighing does not account for the muscle mass you gain, esp if you are working weights. Quote If you want something, go get it.
