Discipline Equals Freedom Field Manual

Recommended Posts

Anyone read Discipline Equals Freedom Field Manual by Jocko Willink? Or listened to his podcast? I'm almost done with the book. I've enjoyed it so far.

I just finished this book a few nights ago, quick read - he gets right to his point(s). I enjoyed it. My father-in-law wants to borrow it now.

I read it the Sunday before last.  It was a quick read.  Good at firing up some motivation.  I actually got up at 5 am for four whole days after reading it, but I fell back to my lazy ways left to my own motivation.  I've downloaded some of his podcasts, but am just listening to my first one now.  He's talking with Tim Ferriss about the novel Musashi, which I thought about making an honorary classic for my "30 mins a day of reading Classics" that I'm fitting into my new challenge, since my classics list could use some non-Western material.  Unfortunately, he said not to finish the podcast if you haven't read the book and plan on reading it, so I'll have to save that one for later.  It didn't seem too bad a podcast though, so I'll try another.

It seems his podcast has a big affect on amazon sales and recommendations.  When you checkout the novel Musashi on Amazon, it says that it's often bought with Discipline Equals Freedom and his other book.  Plus Jocko brand white tea and then some other books actually by Musashi that make more sense.
