Thrillho
I have tapered off the porn about 95% over the last four or five years. Only noticed advantages. Also, I have my spare time back! Artinum
Doesn't matter what's going on or how nice it is, if I'm not driving there's no happy ending for me. Baffled here - I'm guessing you aren't literally in charge of a moving car at this point, which would be both distracting and potentially dangerous. I've found that condoms are the problem for me. I simply don't like them, and there's a narrow window of opportunity between putting one on and putting it to work before everything goes flat. Once I've, um, got started, it's usually fine. There's just a tricky point where I need to be excited enough to get the thing on but without going too far and finishing early. Porn has never been much appeal to me. I can't take it seriously. Sex itself looks and sounds absurd, and there are so many bad actors in porn. What happens when you play Final Fantasy VII with everyone called Cloud? It gets quite confusing... https://ff7crowdofclouds.wordpress.com/ Link to comment
Thrillho
That sort of porn has also never appealed to me as anything other than slapstick comedy. Seriously, if it's people going at it, I CANNOT STOP LAUGHING. Probably the wrong reaction. The cancer was aggressive, but the chemotherapy was aggressive, as well. Caution
Well, since this is basically the shaving thread... Do any of you fellas have experience with zits and shaving? Currently I'm shaving every day with an electric razor. Thing is, I think it may increase the amount of zits on my face. Would shaving manually help?I have a face that brakes out very easily and electric razors made my face look like sand paper. The "17 blade" Gillette shavers didn't do much to help that either. The only thing that has helped was switching to safety razors and straight razors (give myself a 3 pass straight razor shave every Sunday morning) I use witch hazel and some aftershave every time too. Takes me a little longer in the morning but it is worlds better than having zits all over my face at 29 years old...sheesh. My Current Challenge Link to comment
crunchy
GOOD AFTERNOON, GENTS!! I have spent the better part of 2 weeks reading through the "Men-Only" threads, and I am utterly amazed at the community you guys have built here. About traditional shaving (dual-edge), I have been shaving that way for almost 5 years. Prior to that I was using an electric, and have been fighting my skin since middle school -- and I just turned 48! My beard is enough that I need to shave about every day and a quarter, but I am very prone to ingrown whiskers. I found that the DE shaving almost immediately cleared up my zits. I haven't tried a straight yet, but I want to. Several pages back in this thread, there was a post about growing up in an abusive home, referring to a 2x4. I can sort of relate to that one. My dad would tell me to go pull my pants down and bend over the bed that he would be in shortly to spank me. And he would come in shortly and spank me. I confronted him and my mom with it several years ago, and they both told me I was wrong. My mom says my dad and I never meshed because he had to go to Vietnam when I was a baby. Yeah, right! But anyway, hope I can throw in 2c worth every now and then! Link to comment

Church
Thanks for the tips guys. I hadn't heard about the milk/yeast thing. And I've been trying all manner of powders and creams for a long time now, and nothing remains effective for long. But I have noticed it getting worse since I reintroduced dairy and grains to my diet, so I'll cut those out and hopefully it helps. I think it was when our daughters were younger and my wife was trying to help them with female yeast infections. I'm not sure of the science or anything. I just know if I avoid milk and keep the sugar/white stuff down, then I have much less problem with both jock itch and athelete's foot. Also keeps the skin behind my ears from cracking. Takes me a little longer in the morning but it is worlds better than having zits all over my face at 29 years old...sheesh. My experience with the electric razor is that I need to give it a pretty thorough cleaning with soap and warm water at regular intervals - if I don't it accumulates oil, dead skin cells, etc. from my face and I end up with more irritated skin, and sometimes a bit of acne. For me at least, keeping the shaving implement clean/oil-free makes a world of difference. Watching the us open. Wow...Serena Williams has put on more muscle. She is one powerful looking person. As someone who has played a lot of tennis, Serena has been just amazing to watch lately. She's been so much better than everyone else, it's been pretty ridiculous. Right now the only person that will beat Serena is Serena herself - I'm not sure I can think of another instance in my lifetime where I've seen an athlete THAT much better than everyone else in their sport. Church
I've tried this before and didn't really notice a lot of benefit. But it looks like I'm in the beginnings of a semi-serious relationship, so maybe if I have an outlet for the lent up energies it'll be more beneficial than last time I tried. Choronodon
Based on just about everything that I've read, there's no real opposition to releasing the tension. Guys got needs, after all. The problem with combining masturbation & porn, especially with any regularity, is that it affects your dopamine(?) pathways. It becomes very similar to a drug addiction as I understand it. You start rewiring your brain to need all that hyper-stimulation that porn provides. Results do vary between each individual though. Maybe a result of "addictive" vs "non-addictive" personalities? Thrillho
Handy other outlet: EXERCISE. One of my old Senseis (who was only five or six years older than me, and actually dated my sister for a while), said he'd never done it. Any time he felt that sort of impulse, he just did pushups and sprints. I know that's not for everyone, but he's been in Cirque Du Soleil touring the world for the past several years and posting Facebook pictures of him and bikini-clad girls on every tropical beach on the planet, so... maybe something to it.
