Quilly
I must admit, one of my motivations for becoming more fitter is so that I can cosplay characters from some of my more favourite animes and games like Deadman Wonderland,Fullmetal Alchemist,Tekken,Metal Gear Solid etc I've always wondered if NF had any otakus or cosplayers in its depths. Included is my cosplay of the Undertaker from Kuroshitsujii from last year's Comic Con in Dubai. God,liquid latex REEKS. And then there's my Kiba cosplay (from the anime Wolf's Rain). The jaw moves when I speak and the nose, teeth and tongue are handmade by yours truly. And here's me as Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist (that's my boyfriend as Jiraya). So otakus, where are you hiding?! 1 Quote ♣ Quilly ♣ Level 2 Gryphon AssassinSTR 2 | DEX 1 | STA 0 | CON 0 | WIS 1 | CHA 0Challenges: 1Log "If you cannot find Paradise, make your own." Link to comment
JessOfAllTrades
Not so much an anime fan anymore, but through high school and college I loved cosplaying, and want to continue for some future cons (I've been out of it for the past 5 years. Yeesh). Being able to pull of FemShep from Mass Effect is one of my motivators at the moment. Here are a few shots of my older costumes that I still love. We have Spoiler!Midna from Twilight Princess, Sheik in the black outfit from Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and Seras in her red outfit from the Hellsing manga (stealing Pip's hat). Unfortunately the shots don't show everything, and as I said, they are old and show some of my mistakes. http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/gallery/album/47-old-cosplay-pics/ 1 Quote Storytelling Rebel | Blog | Twitter "“You've seen my descent, now watch my rising." ~ Rumi Link to comment
guest439437484421
This summer will be my first cosplay. I'll be going as Harry Dresden from the dresden files. My ultimate goal is to get ripped enough to pull off Major Armstrong from Full Metal Alchemist. 2 Quote Lvl 5 Penguin Warrior: 10 Str, 3.5 Dex, 6.5 STA, 23.5 CON, 12.25 WIS, 5.75 CHAIntro | Current Challenge Thread | Character sheetMy Personal Blog | My Food Blog There are no failures, only learning pains Link to comment
Taz
Cosplay is one of the reasons I joined the Rebellion- so I can tone up! Near the end of Spring I'll be going to my first Con. I plan to go as a female version of Brick (from Borderlands). I'm supposed to be working on my outfit >_> but I've been lazy about it. 1 Quote Human Assassin: Level 1 STR: 2 | DEX: 2 | STA: 1 | CON: 4 | WIS: 4 | CHA: 2 Link to comment
ellystar
I also joined the rebellion to get in better shape for cosplay. I've had the materials to make Kallen from Code Geass for years, I just need to body type to feel comfortable in it. I've made 80+ costumes in the past six years, for myself and others. It's my favorite thing and I've made some amazing friends doing it. Here's my stuff: http://www.acparadise.com/loves/stardust462 1 Quote Link to comment
SkiBlue
It's not one of the reasons why I joined the Rebellion, but it's definitely one of the reasons why I want to get in shape. I have plenty of costume ideas (cosplay and otherwise) that I would love to bring to life, but I definitely need to get in better shape to do them. I also need to practice some more with sewing and such. Most of the costumes I want to make are Star Wars related; I want to join the 501st Legion someday. I've only cosplayed once at Otakon in 2009, and it was one of the best times of my life. I can't wait to do it again! 2 Quote LEVEL 1 REBEL Link to comment
Niccolo
I'm also an aspiring cosplayer. I've done two so far: Ezio from AC: Brotherhood and a Demon Hunter from Diablo 3. I have two projects that I'd like to have ready for PAX Prime this year: Corvo Attano from Dishonored and Monkey from Enslaved. The Monkey costume is actually what has been driving a lot of my fitness goals since the last PAX. For both of these projects, I'm gunning to learn a lot of new skills, like prop making and epoxy casting. 1 Quote "Whether or not you can never become great at something, you can always become better at it." -Neil DeGrasse Tyson "I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. Basically looking into best methods to make futuristic armor and/or weapons. I've done some work with armor for a costume before. You can use foam, like craft foam or flooring foam, to make the armor. After it's heated up using a heat gun or hair dryer, you can mold it to a shape that it'll hold. Then it's a matter of sealing it with several layers of white glue (Elmer's, etc.) and you can even go as far as to use epoxy to make it completely rigid. Take a look at The Replica Prop Forum. They have a huge amount of information on how to create armor for cosplaying. Good Luck! 1 Quote "Whether or not you can never become great at something, you can always become better at it." -Neil DeGrasse Tyson "I believe every human has a finite number of heartbeats. JessOfAllTrades
Your Hinoto is awesome. So my friends are trying to convince me to go to Otakon. The only future cosplay I have in mind is FemShep, but I will definitely not be ready to pull off a full armored version. I'm considering one of the off-duty casual outfits, which means getting my butt into shape will be all the more important (no hiding under armor!). So, crazy for a broke grad student? Thoughts? 1 Quote Storytelling Rebel | Blog | Twitter "“You've seen my descent, now watch my rising." ~ Rumi Link to comment

stellalihr
I'm a cosplayer! Some of my recent ones are Starbuck from BSG and Deneve from Claymore (my friends and I did this as a group, and it was epic). I pulled of a pretty sweet Darth Maul for Halloween as well. I'm not the best at sewing, but I love prop-making and SFX make-up. I made the swords for our Claymore group. A couple years ago I whipped together an infested Kerrigan (Starcraft) costume over about 2 weeks worth of evenings. One of my ultimate cosplay goals is to re-do her and go all-out. I also really want to do Leona Heidern from KOF, but I know I won't really be able to pull that off without abs... some day! I scrounged up some pictures..
