JustinK Posted June 17, 2013 Report Share Posted June 17, 2013 Hi there, Just came across this website, thought I would give it a crack and see what the community is like. I'm a 27 year old guy in Melbourne. Currently I'm doing a PhD in Computer Science (so long long long stretches of sitting). Once upon a time I was a fairly fit guy, but after I started University at about age 19 I never really managed to keep it up. I currently weigh in somewhere towards 70kg's and I'm about 165cm tall (so not overweight but quite unfit). Ive recently joined the local gym and I have started with the Rippetoe Starting Strength program to kick things off (so lots of squats, dead lifts, bench, etc). I've never been much of a runner (I tend to do well with strength training instead) but I may try and work in a couple of short jogging sessions a week as well. I'm also trying to keep my diet clean. Eventually I'd like to try out going Paleo but I'll have to convince my wife on that one My current goal is to reduce my body fat down to around 12% and gain strength. Link to comment
