Too many, but the highlights are:

The Aquabats: seen them at least 7 times.  Yeah, 90s ska, amazing show, rindonkulous and goofy.

Bob Dylan: about 10 years ago, he opened for Phil Lesh and didn't do anything too interpretive, unlike when I saw him last year and his show became more vaudevilian.

http://youtu.be/z95jsjKn5BU

Gogol Bordello: two years ago at the Showbox in Seattle.  That was a  3 hour party, just amazing energy.  Seeing them again next month!

And dozens and dozens of southern california punk and ska bands that were floating around in the 90s.

My first concert was KISS; my second was Queen

My cousin's step-dad used to get us into CBGBs. Saw The Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, The Cars, Television and some others there

Back in the 80s, my friends & I would go to The East Side Club on Chestnut Street in Philly. We saw Stray Cats, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, even Duran Duran

Saw The Police in their legendary Grendel's Lair show, plus a few more times that they came around including the big Synchronicity Tour show at JFK [with Huey Lewis & Joan Jett, if you can imagine that (REM opened, but we skipped them)]

I saw a lot of shows at JFK

Lynyrd Skynyrd [before the plane crash, naturally] & Peter Frampton

Frampton & Yes [120K attendance]

The Stones w. Journey, J Geils & George Throrogood

The Who w. The Clash & Santana [their FIRST farewell tour] - I saw The Clash 3 times on the Combat Rock tour, plus a few times before that

Foreigner / The Kinks / Loverboy

Other than that, you could pretty much guess who else by simply cruising this listing

http://rememberthespectrum.com/300/Concerts.asp

Ah, someone else who's been around!

Way to many to list, but the best:

Also saw the Clash three times on that tour!

Dead Kennedy's

Toxic Reasons

TSOL

Live Skull

Motörhead

Ramones

Jim Carrol Band

Big Black

Wipers

Dead Moon

Hellacopters

Gluecifer

Monster Magnet

Thin White Rope

Swans

Sonic Youth

These Immortal Souls

The Cure

Kelly Joe Phelps

RL Burnside

Wovenhand

Jesse Sykes

Transmissionary Six

Screaming Trees

And on and on...

concretecavewoman, The Aquabats put on one of the best shows I've ever seen.  :surprise:

I saw them at the Gothic in Englewood, CO.  Not only did they get the name of the town right (instead of just saying Denver, because Englewood is a suburb), they sang a silly little song at the end about Colorado that just melted my native Coloradan heart.  Because it was the Aquabats, it was ridiculous, and they did say we have mooses here (and then joked about what the plural of moose really is), but it was amazing.

And, they passed the Mile High Challenge:  They played well, and didn't have to take oxygen, for the whole show.  This is HUGE for a band with so much brass.  The trumpet player didn't attempt the higher octave in the solo in The Cat With Two Heads, but it was super impressive nonetheless.

I would love to see them again.  If only they'd play somewhere little tiny with no crowd...like maybe my living room.

I remembered a few more:

Dokken

Steel Heart

Lynch Mob

Screaming Cheetah Willies

Dangerous Toys

Wrathchild America

Blue Murder

Rolling Stones

Living Color (the band not the crappy show)

To be totally fair, I did not compile the list.  Ubergeek husband did.  This is what we do.  We go to concerts.  Because we're older and we can now afford to go see ALL. THE. BANDS.  Our tastes are a bit eclectic.  He also neglected to mention that the introduction to live music for the kids included: Star Wars at the Hollywood Bowl; The Legend of Zelda Symphony 2; Final Fantasy Symphony.  We intend to raise GOOD nerds.

Sarah McLachlan -- 9 times between solo shows, Lilith and a KROQ event

Next, acts I've seen more than three times:

Joe Satriani -- I'm cheating a bit because I've seen /just/ him three times, but I've also seen him at two different tribute events, one Hendrix and one in honor of Les Paul's 90th birthday

Bands or performers I have seen thrice:

Natalie Merchant (probably; twice for sure)

Sheryl Crow (again twice for certain)

Twice as nice:

A Prairie Home Companion (Garrison twice, Martin Sheen both times, different musical guests)

I try to go to at least 3 festivals every year, so I actually don't remember all the names of the bands I've seen live!  Just counting non-festivals though, I think in the past 5 years or so I've seen:

VNV Nation

Straftanz

Rammstein

Combichrist

Paul Simon

Joan Baez

U2

Interpol

NERD

Rihanna

Kanye West

Lupe Fiasco

I also go to a lot of classical concerts and operas, but I guess that's part of the answer to a live music question that doesn't have "band" in the title, right?  Although honestly one of the best concerts I went to in 2011 was the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and countertenor Daniel Taylor doing Vivaldi, so hey.  And do DJs count?  That would add to it as well.

I love these guys! But Myles Kennedy's first band was actually a jazz fusion group called Cosmic Dust, followed by another band called Citizen Swing. The Mayfield Four came after those. :)
