Duality
Alright, I don't care how this comes off, but I want/need a solution. I got thick hair (like really really really fucking thick). During winter, I usually shave my head, but I like my long hair. How the fuck do I put this damn hair somewhere I want when I wake up in the morning without the need to take a shower????? I want to keep longer hair this winter! Help me ladies! AnnleaArtsy
I wasn't blessed with thick hair but I do know this. Girls put A LOT of time in their hair to make it seem like it just..behaves. Me I am lucky and it actually just behaves but like I said I wasn't blessed with super thick awesome hair. Most girls have a pony tail or bun day to fix a "don't want to shower" kind of day Quote Link to comment
Duality
But my hair is only like an inch or two long lol I can't do a pony tail or bun haha Quote It's not 80% diet, 20% exercise, it's 100% diet, 100% exercise. AnnleaArtsy
ohh that kind of long...yea no idea how to style that. I do know on days where my husband actually does his hair (he doesn't have long hair though) he uses a pomade and that doesn't require a washing before hand. Not super helpful but thats all I got! Duality
This is a bit how I like to keep my hair when it's longer, but when I wake up it's no where near it xD Comb over on one side until it's a bit longer like in the picture, when it's that long I still do a comb over ish, but a bit messier, if that makes any sense lol Quote It's not 80% diet, 20% exercise, it's 100% diet, 100% exercise. AnnleaArtsy
Aha...there are tutorials on youtube for that. I know who does one too. His name is Joey Graceffa. But...I do remember it was not a don't wash and go. And there were for sure hair tools invovled. This dude spends more time on his hair in one day then I do in a week! Basically if you want to keep your hair like that..ya gotta work for it Quote Link to comment
DELETED
if you're looking for a solution to not going out with bedhead but not having to shower, a spray bottle of water might help. you can dampen the hair enough to get it where you want it. you're still going to have a dampened head though. (i'm not sure if THAT is what you are trying to avoid in winter. I also have thick hair, though considerably longer than yours, and I despise being out in winter with any dampness on my head. takes all day to dry in summer, just plain freezes in the winter. I don't know about you, but I don't like icicles in my hair.) Quote this person really wants to delete their account but can't because it's not allowed. Link to comment

Yeah, the thing is, it's not only thick, but my hair itself is big, so if it's pressed a way when I sleep, it WILL stay like that unless I take a 2-3 minute shower lol I can rinse then awkwardly under the tap, but it's not enough and I can't get the back properly which is usually the worst. sylph
Hubs does the "spray it with water and blow dry every morning" method when his hair's longer. As previously mentioned, it takes work to make it look like anything other than bedhead. He probably spends longer on his hair each morning than I do. Quote Link to comment

UltanBoyd
Grow it long, long or shave it off. This is what I have found. Going from a grade 3 all over to the shoulder lengh hair I now have was harrowing. Then again long hair gets annoying being wet for hours even after 10 minutes under the hair dryer! Then again long hair gets annoying being wet for hours even after 10 minutes under the hair dryer!that. get it cut more.. or just actually grow it out. Hair is one of those things- you eitehr have a hair cut that works fine on it's own- or you have to do something with it. Typically the shorter it is to your scalp (up to the point of clippers) the more you have to mess with it because when it's bad it's REALLY bad. Quote Link to comment

MariahSnow
Definitely try youtube. I've learned almost anything about makeup, hair styles, even how to wear a hijab, on youtube. I'd search for you but I'm at work Also, once it kinda grows out, go get it cut at a nice place and ask the stylist for tips, ideas on products, etc. Quote Amazon Warrior 29, F, 5'11 ft, 159lbs #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 Link to comment

Suited hippy
Stop washing it. After a bit the volume of oil your scalp produces reduces. I shower and rinse my hair after every workout, so 5-6 times a week, and have not washed it in months. For me, it retains a bit of oil enough that makes it manageable, styleable, but not smelly or greasy. Quote Currently lost in Fitness. Link to comment

Hobgoblin
My hair is almost like yours, really thick and about the same kind of length you want yours. The way I do mine is after washing it, I blow dry it and spray hairspray through it with the hairdrier (avoid your eyes, that's a massive owwie!). It's then essentially cemented upright. Brush out the hairspray (I use ellnet which keeps its hold after being brushed through) then your hair is soft and big and you can style it to one side or the other or quiff it up with putty. Best thing is, it will keep its hold for DAYS! Just needs a little tweak with putty each morning. Seriously, easiest hair regime I've ever had. Hope this helps!
