Let's pick a book for November-December Challenge!

OK so I don't know who's in charge of these things but I'd love to have our Book Club alive again for the next challenge. Hope you (whoever usually does this) don't mind.

Please post your suggestions for a book that we should read during the 6 week challenge! The suggestions close on Saturday 11pm (in London time, which is... 6pm EST time?) (if we get at least 3-4 suggestions by then) and then we'll do a poll to decide.

Anything (except your textbooks maybe lol) of reasonable length. We've read Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson in July's challenge, for example.

 

Honestly, there is no specific criteria. It can fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, romance... Whatever

Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood

I've always wanted to be in a book club!  I'd love to participate!  I've already read Oryx and Crake and The Years of Rice and Salt... but I'd be willing to read them again because they're both freaking amazing.

 

I've been wanting to read The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi.  It won the Nebula Award and Hugo Award.  Any takers?

I'm putting Baudolino by Umberto Eco in the mix to spice things up a bit. It's been sitting unopened on my bookshelf for 13 years! The poor book.

 

I have goodreads. I only started it last month and am actually forgetting it too often still. Would love to use it more!

Me too! I've yearned for a book club for a long time now! I've never actually tried one before so I don't really know what to expect and what others expect of me. But since it's you guys (I'm thinking of all rebels as my posse = not-scary) It can't go bad.
