tomboy22
I have been walking more and doing sprint workouts to try and help with my endurance as well as speed. I finally managed to run an entire mile and did it in almost 8 mins!! I am super proud. This is the first big fitness accomplishment I can measure and see progress on. 2 Quote Six Week Challenge 1Drop two pants sizes 0%0% Link to comment

tomboy22
I managed a second mile today. Little slower than before but still ran the whole thing. Hey guys, did any of you have issues with your ankles and arches being sore from running? My muscles are a tad sore but my feet and ankles are crazy feeling it. Any idea why? Archer
Great job! Running shorter distances with good form and speed is the best way to improve. Most people just run long, slow distances and improve very slowly. Sprint workouts and interval training are awesome. tomboy22
I run in minimalist merrell shoes with vibram soles. They are as close to barefoot as I can get since the Fivefingers don't fit my toes right. I guess it is possible that my ankles and arches are just getting a workout from the basically barefoot conditions. However I have been wearing shoes of this kind for over two years now, although not necessarily to run. Quote Six Week Challenge 1Drop two pants sizes 0%0% Link to comment
Barfly
Might be the cause. Might be you just have to get used to the additional strain of running over walking. Take it slow and if it gets too bad, rest and scale it back a bit. Happy running Quote The past is only smoke in a dream.
