Rejectedturtle123
Due to both flexibility issues (I'm not really flexible) and the size of my weights (tiny), I've never been able to start a dead lift from the floor, so for the last few months I've always put the bar on the squat rack and started from a standing position. Well today, it occurred to me on my very last set that I had 25lb weights on the bar. Flush with adrenaline and dripping with sweat, I dropped the bar to the floor and - surprise surprise - I did my first honest-to-God dead lift! And then I did 7 more! Oh happy days! Side note: I found a yoga routine in the NF forums that supposedly does an amazing job at loosening up hips and lower back (huge problem spots for me, and also probably everyone else). I'm going to try it as soon as I can and see how it helps. Here's a link to the yoga routine for those interested! http://www.doyogawithme.com/content/deep-release-hips-hamstrings-and-lower-back 5 Quote The first time is always the hardest. Link to comment

Rejectedturtle123
Congrats!! And thanks for the link, i have the same issues and going to try out those stretches. Heartily recommend it, my deadlift has improved drastically since I started doing these stretches, to the point where I might need to start my deadlifts from an elevated surface!
