So, gentlemen, I have a slight problem. I am the best man in a wedding coming up later this month, and I need some manly ideas for the bachelor party. Neither the groom nor I drink (not sure about the other guys) and I don't support whores, so the stereo-typical answer of get wasted and go to a strip club is out. Also, we would probably meet the bachelorette party there anyway, from what I hear their plans are.

Do you guys have any ideas?

I'm currently thinking of getting a ton of ammo and taking our arsenal out for a day shooting stuff. Also, I am about to read AoM's bachelor party article and I'm trying to get the groomsmen's contact information to get ideas from them.

Depending what everybody is into I have gone golfing, to a sporting event, hiking, and drinking for friends bachelor parties. You don't really have to do anything crazy or extravagant, just need to go out and have fun with your friends.

I read that as "interested in a Federal Firearm License" and thought "how random. But me too." Then I remembered the talk of a fantasy football league and moved on...

Mwahahaha... I went to the number 1 nurse school in the Valley. It was a technical school, so it also included computer and mining and engineering courses. So the ratio was just greater than 1:1 with more females to males. But the females were 9 times out of 10 nurses, so that's another plus!

i vote you go play paintball! find a radical place and just go let loose. in the woods....go scope out two locations there that can be "base". or find a paintball place. here in indianapolis we have dark armies the largest in the world. that's where i'd go and it would be a blast.

My friends kidnapped me on my way to work and took me skydiving. Then we went and got drunk and went to strip clubs the rest of the weekend. We also went fishing and got a private table at a casino for cards.

Paintball sounds awesome. I haven't done that in years, and it has probably been a year or two since I went airsofting. I'll check with the other guys and see if that's cool with them.

I found a place that is $18 per person for gun, mask and 50 balls and an outdoor field. Does that sound like a good deal to you guys? I know we'll have to buy more balls and possibly CO2 (not sure if it is included). Next best place I've found is $35pp to get gun, mask, gloves, 500 balls, air for the day, and either indoor or outdoor field.

I wish I could afford enough tracers. Those things are awesome. At least I know 2 of us have mosin nagants which send fireballs out of the muzzle

That sounds awesome. I wish I could arrange something like that, though I'm pretty sure most of us would freeze up once we got in the plane.

Skydiving: Once you're in the plane, its too late, your tandem instructor will just pull you out of the plane if you freak out, and will enjoy the sound of you shrieking the entire way down.

Paintballed for my bucks followed by a beachside bbq, good enough. Also going camping with the lads is an acceptable one too (combine that with water skiing or another activity for bonus points)

i feel like 500 pballs and everything for $35 is pretty good. that and as pat g said a bbq after would probably be a rad day. go paintball bbq and have just a couple beers (you said you don't really drink does that mean not at all?) I think that could be a ton of fun.

so i want to discuss a fitness related issue. yes this is a typically non fitness related thread but...oh well.

so my lifts...all of them...really sort of suck when you take into account my height and body weight. example.

6'1 and 190lbs ish.

squat: 210 (weak sauce)

bench (185 Weak sauce)

push presses (135-140)

dead lift (275)

rows (on the tbar thing not standing with the barbell): 110 (not counting the weight of the actual bar contraption)

I eat a lot. sleep alot and have been at it since last october/november. i don't really know what i'm doing wrong. maybe not eating enough??? i seriously just don't know what's going on. big changes in my body for sure but...still my biggest and best lift seems to be my shrugs with the barbell it is 250+lbs and i sort of explode into my shrug. so please someone explain to me what is wrong. i look a lot stronger than i am apparently. but...still...it is starting to get me down.

Thanks guys. The bbq would be perfect too, very paleo (I'm the only paleo one of the bunch though) friendly if done right.

Yes, I do not drink at all (I'll try any alcohol, but haven't found anything I like enough to have more than a sip or two. So I'm basically a teetotaler, and as far as I know the groom is the same way. But one of the groomsmen makes his own mead, so if everyone is in agreeance I see no problem if we all get a few beverages (alcoholic or not) and sit around having fun into the night.

You say you eat a lot, but what is it in calories? Macro breakdown?

What about giving the lifting a break for maybe a week, or doing different exercises that mostly work the same muscle groups? When you come back, you can sometimes boost through your plateau.

Also, you "look a lot stronger than you are"? Man, you look like a beast and your numbers (to me) look like beastly workouts.

I have a similar problem. I've been seeing fantastic changes lately but numbers haven't been improving. If anything I've seen reductions in my numbers for push ups, and an increase of 1 for pull ups. Now I'm up to 7 :D

But I want to start adding some focused strength days where I do some big lifts. So far I dead lift about 95 lbs, and I goblet squat 100 pound dumbbell. But I want to add some more so that I can do a full on strength day instead of just rotating those two into my regular circuit.

Those guys you are strapped to are REALLY good at talking you into jumping. My biggest fear is heights, I won't go with 10 feet of a 20 foot drop unless it's into a pool, and they got me to do it.

Sorry for double post, just read the rest of them. For the progress Bruce, mine jumped this time around and I made 2 main changes that I can think of that attribute to it. First, I sleep 7 hours a night, where I was getting about 6 before. The other is that I drink a quart of whole milk with 2 scoops of whey mixed in with dinner when I get home from working out. I only lifted about twice a week.

i will see about adding more of that protein in. more milk and more protein shake. i usually have one in the am and one after lifting. i'll see what i can do differently.

what's your program snake? based off your numbers (and time spent training) it seems like you may be needing to step up to an advanced novice program. are you microloading? could always try deloading around 20% and working your way back up, or increase max reps for a week and stay at the same weight (so like, from 5 reps per set to 7). Probably better served asking this particular question in warriors tho.

Pft your benching 185? Total weak sauce man! I bench like ~90lbs, so you should really step up your game if you are going to get as beefy as me :P

You can squat and bench your BW, and can do that multiple times. As far as I am concerned, that is pretty dang good. Maybe you should try a smoothie diet, WAYYY better for you than paleo or anything else like that. </sarcasm>

is there a reason you aren't doing barbell squats? why goblets instead? goblets are good yes. i'm just curious.

The goblet squat is the first one I was introduced to after regular prisoner squats. And I find the barbell hard to keep balanced, I just can't find a comfortable place to hold it. Unfortunately I have to figure it out though, cuz the dumbbells available to me only go up to 100 lbs. I'm not ready to exceed that yet, but I will be soon. So I gotta sort something out. Maybe barbell front squat? Which will allow me to easily bail the weights if something goes wrong.

You can do zercher squats. Though they apparently hurt and are semi-dangerous (never done them myself) or maybe Hack Squats. I feel you with the uncomfortable thing though, no idea where to put the bar myself.

Just takes some grit and a few stacks to get the hang of it.

Bruce, 6 eggs a day is only approx 40grams of protein. You'll be wanting 1 gram per lb of bodyweight to keep on gaining that strength.

Oh, snake, the other big thing was I went from 5x5 to 3x5. That's probably bigger than the other two.
