TheRikAllen
Boss brought in doughnuts (picture below) and I didn't even feel tempted by them. Looks like my taste buds are changing (a few months ago I would have had at least 2...)Woot for self-control! Quote Link to comment
shutterpillar
Good for you! For me, if they were Krispy Kreme then they would be a little harder to resist. especially if they were warm! lol. Quote "resistance is futile." Link to comment
Book
Last Friday... woman walking around with St. Pats cupcakes... asked me *three* times if I wanted any, with the hurt look on her face because I politely declined. I had never seen this woman before in my life.Tomorrow is the bowling/pizza/snacks quarterly celebration at work. Might be hard. Quote Character and Epic Quest! Malnux
Congratulations! It IS a great feeling knowing you have the self-control to say no to things like that! It's not always easy. NotBadForAHuman
Congrats!! Free food is SO HARD to turn down - someone here brings in bagels and muffins on alternating Mondays and the muffins are from an absolutely amazing bakery - they get bran ones too (healthy, right? HA), carrot/apple, etc. etc. There are always too many muffins so Muffin Monday becomes Muffin Tuesday, Muffin Wednesday, and today we have one lone, lonely Muffin Thursday survivor remaining on the kitchen counter... it gets easier though... I guess. Quote Link to comment
Rosie
Well done you! Our office has the occasional Krispy Kreme treat days and even though I don't usually eat sweets and cakes, I'm sorry, I just cant resist those! Malnux
I at the very least pass on anything with Hydrogenated Oils in it. morethanjustamom
WOOT! That's a huge hurdle to jump for a lot of people. I went to the grocery store hungry today, and came home with only what's on my list. Feels good. lonefrontranger
That is incredibly awesome, congrats!you want to hear some work-related food insanity? I've had a bunch of Skittles, M&Ms and easter candy (including Dove chocolate eggs) sitting ON MY DESK for over a month and haven't yet been tempted to dip into them. Why do I have candy jars on my desk, you ask? Eh, it's one of those Office Space kind of deals you'd have to be part of the company to understand. I somehow got saddled with departmental candy-jar maintenance when my former boss left the company. If I don't refill them regularly, the whining levels rapidly violate my annoyance threshhold. I absolutely agree, it's amazing what quitting sugar cold turkey can do for the taste buds. If I'd had to maintain these bad boys six months ago it would have been to my sweet, sugary doom. Mishka
Awesome job saying no! I admit, I get a craving for a donut maaaaybe twice a year, but if that were a bowl of warm queso dip w/ some chips and I said no, it would be the same awesome accomplishment! Well done! Quote Link to comment
TheRikAllen
I know I'll have a donut when I go to the beach, there's a local shop that when hot and fresh (in my opinion) beats KK. I'm hoping I can go down, save it for the end of the week and only have 1 while I'm down there.Actually having Paleo Spaghetti (first time making) tonight! Quote Link to comment
scuddle
Congratulations!! I did the same last week - bossman brought in Krispy Kreme and I wasn't even tempted. Now, if it was Dunkin Donuts, this might be a different story... but I;m getting so much better!
