zenmom Posted March 29, 2012 Report Share Posted March 29, 2012 My husband and I are taking our daughter to mermaid camp in Weeki Wachee Florida (the city of live mermaids) as a birthday present. The camp only goes to age 14 and she turns 14 in May so this is her last chance to attend. While she is in camp the hubs and I plan on sitting by a pool. We are taking a little side trip to the beach too. We have not taken a vacation other than to go camping locally in almost 8 years. I am really looking forward to it. I'll probably still plop down on rocks mid-stream this summer and play with my hair and sing... sometimes you just have to. Any magical critters that I can think of that were part human turned into things like beavers, seals, and loons when they went into the water. There was the "goddess" Sedna in some of the more northern legends, but she's a different story altogether.
