  1. To put forward an alternative view point, I really appreciate anyone who says "yes, I can do the work for you, but there might be this cheaper alternative". I appreciate the honesty, and ultimately the if the person gets a reputation for being honest rather than greedy they may make more money from that anyway. Obviously don't know if that was how the situation went for you though, and sorry to hear that it stressed you out. Glad you've reminded yourself how much you enjoy yoga
  2. Stats at W1D2 Mr Positivity 2/28 Mr Strong 1/12 Mr Sleepy 2/28 Mr Writer 2/28 Daily Dare score: 6 Having got to work silly early yesterday I decided to leave early to catch the last direct train home before all the cancellations, so I got home about 6pm which was lovely. Mrs wanted pizza, so we had pizza and chilled in front of the TV, and went to bed mega early at about 9:45! To-do list items not done yesterday: • Renew train ticket (which expired last night, d'oh!) • Passport (again!) • Water bill (again!) -- This morning got up at 05:35 (blech!) to get to the station, renew my train ticket and catch the train to the gym. The train to the gym was cancelled, and the following one is so packed with people that it's seriously delayed (I should be finishing my workout as I sit on the train writing this). So I need to have a good think on how to fit my workouts in this week; I'm thinking tomorrow morning, and then either Friday as usual or find time on Saturday. Oh well, today I'll be very slightly early for work and then snooker tonight, so still a good day to be had. And Mr Positivity says: "This morning before I left for work I went to kiss Mrs goodbye, and the kitten jumped past me up onto the bed and started purring. And it struck me as they lay there together how lucky I am to have my little family, and how much I look forward to coming home to them tonight."
  3. Free breakfast, a hug and some rum sounds like a good day
  4. What on earth else would you do in that situation?
  5. Side lunges done with EC (20 each side). Not quite sure how to do them but think I was ok
  6. Sometimes just reframing a situation like that can definitely make you feel better about it (and in turn make you more successful). It might take a little while of repeating it though before you find yourself believing it.
  7. Could be to do with how much give there is in the floor. Apparently it's best not to use scales on carpeted floors as this affects the result, so presumably a softer patch of floor would register a different weight. Elevation is also a factor, but unless one side of your room is 100's of feet higher than the other that's probably not the issue!
  8. I'm sorry to hear that. Whatever it is I'm sure you will ranger through. If there's anything I can do, or if you want to talk, please drop me a message.
  9. Absolutely! And even more than that I know able bodied people who can't walk or run as far as me, or lift as much as me, or climb as well as me. And better yet Past Jarric is one of those people!
  10. So at least your keeping up your telepathy practice then?
  11. Another alternative, if it's viable for you, is to have friends to your house so that you control the food. To be fair I suck at this because my house is tiny and I can't really fit guests in it, but it's a thought!
  12. This is an excellent thing, particularly if you work odd hours or just don't mind going to the gym at unusual times.
  13. Yes sir, will do sir. // an aside - I was trying to find a Carry On Sergeant or Carry On Doctor gif to respond to this, but all I could find we're gifs of Barbara Windsor in her underwear #verybritishproblems //
  14. There's a PvP going on on the boards for completing the Daily Dare from http://www.darebee.com . Basically it's a short, often punishing bodyweight exercise to be completed on that day. Latest PvP (kindly set up by @Xena) here: Feel free to join in! By my calculations you would still be able to hit Gold (50 points) with a perfect run.
  15. Hope you enjoyed your lifting session man, and happy St Nicholas Day (is that what you call it?)!
  16. Ooh, I've hit 1,500 posts, so now I'm a "Renegade". Good-o.
  17. Glad you're feeling better, will be following along
  18. Sounds good to me! Then again I just want the extra points after wussing out most of week 0 . Question for everyone on today's one (40 balanced side lunges), are we doing those 20-20 each side? That seems to be the consensus on the Darebee comments, but I wanted to check with you guys?
  19. Cheers man. I don't know why that one particularly came to me today, but it's definitely worth remembering.
  20. Hope things went ok with PHDM this morning. Lidl pay £9+/h?? That's a great wage for a supermarket, I'd definitely look at jumping ship if I we're you!
  21. Stats at W1D1 (apparently my phone isn't doing bold today) Mr Positivity 1/28 Mr Strong 1/12 Mr Sleepy 1/28 Mr Writer 1/28 Yesterday was a good day. Having got home late I skipped snooker (but they won 4-1 without me which was cool), stayed in with the Mrs and got to bed at 10 for some much needed sleep. I failed two todo items on my list yesterday, sorting out my passport and my water bill, so these have been migrated to today. --- Today I am grateful for my body. It's a work in progress, but there's so much I can do already. I can walk so far, throw myself up climbs and over obstacles. I know many people are not so fortunate, and I am very grateful for this gift I have.
  22. I know, right?! Yeah, it could be much worse though as you say. I ended up having to move my workouts to before work just so I could reliably have time to do them without things like snooker or a social life getting in the way. That and to appease the Mrs; there was a point when I was busy every day after work and I barely saw her, which sucked, so I made the switch. Cheers man . I've always tried to be positive on here, just felt it needed some more focus this month! Thank you! Gonna keep pushing through this! Cheers man, good to have you here! Thank you!
  23. Perspective is a great thing to have, and I'm glad you've found some. Not that you don't have every right to be stressed and frustrated once in a while, but the balance is good Yes, you've definitely got this - you're a great mother and you can do it.
