Oooh, that sourdough looks delicious. I haven't done any bread baking in a while, but these crisp mornings are giving me the baking itch.

You seem to be using your rest time very wisely in not just ceasing from activity but also doing some important introspective work that should serve you well once this season ends. Very well done.

I mean, you're not entirely wrong. I'd like to say that I am here to support you, but yeah, Maple pics are always a bonus!

Great that you are finding strategies to help with the mental load!  And you have some very cool projects going on

I have been keeping a Bujo consistently for over a year now and I wonder if I should actually read the book. It might work even better for me if I put some scaffolding in rather than just use it as a commonplace book…

Your pictures look like evidence of an amazing life and I am glad you have these glimmers. And Maple is gorgeous as always.

Wishing you rest and recovery. ❤️

I tried just journaling and it never offered me enough structure. The book was helpful in guiding me  in finding at least a purpose on why I am doing this.  As for it being a commonplace book for you, I think that is amazing and actually is one of the sections the book references (they are called collections).   Unfortunately a large portion of my collections are digital and I haven’t dug into the digital version of the Bullet app to see if it integrates well with my current commonplace.

Still here and still plodding along.  My right wrist started to really bother me yesterday.  I am not sure what I did to it (probably slept wrong….sigh…over 40 sucks), but it hurts to twist it.  It’s more than likely just a sprain (no swelling or bruising), but man it has made certain things hard (like using a mouse for work).

Work is feeling less stressful in someways.  Due to the fast approaching deadline for our project, my team mates will be providing more assistance around validation while the other data architect and I work on getting all the code done.  This has made me less anxious that I will miss something vitally important and is allowing me to focus just on programming.  I honestly can’t wait until we have this project done and I have more mental bandwidth for other things.

Gym days with the trainer are happening mostly, when health or work don’t prevent me from going. And while I despise the amount of money I am spending it is a good motivator to get my rear out of the house and go.  Right now I need this as I am wanting to hibernate more and feeling overall less social, but I may cut this budget item after the new year or sooner if I can find a more affordable solution.

Bujo is still happening daily and I am starting to look forward to my pages and notes instead of feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of things. I am starting to also prioritize more around what really needs to happen and what just “ended” up on my list because I thought it needed/should be done. I am notorious for trying to doing all the things and ending burnt out in the end. The family has also started to do a lot more around the house which has freed up a lot of my time for hobbies and things I love to do.

This past weekend I picked the rest of our green tomatoes and canned two batches of a green tomato and onion chutney.  I am slowly making small things for what will probably end up being Christmas baskets/boxes for friends and family.  This brings me joy and makes me feel like I am escaping the consumerism rat race by not purchasing and shopping for silly stupid stuff that society tells me I must do and that no one really needs. Food and small handmade items are always more interesting anyways.

Well… I should probably attempt to adult today and actually get some work done.  Thanks for reading!

Ugh, sorry about your wrist, but glad that work is being less stressful.

A+++ Handmade consumable gifts are perfect. The last thing most of us need is more stuff.

I am planning a more home made Christmas this year too, if I get myself together enough to draw character portraits for people. Good job getting ahead and dodging the stressful rat race of Christmas consumerism!
