level250geek
Pretty much anything by Amon Amarth, but I'm especially partial to "Free Will Sacrifice" or "Valhall Awaits Me." Basically any heavy metal or hard rock will do. Mastodon, old-school Metallica, Rush, DragonForce--all good sources for battle music. When I need a more subtle battle anthem, I like "Why Do We Fall?" from The Dark Knight Rises OST. This is the song played while Bruce makes the final, successful climb out of the Pit. I cannot watch that scene without getting emotional; I saw the movie during a very difficult time, emotionally, and that scene--the music, the chanting, everything--was just pure catharsis. 1 Quote Level 2 Human RangerSTR [5] DEX [4.25] STA [3] CON [4] WIS [6] CHA [6.25]Current ChallengeMy Introduction"Blood and sweat washes away pain and fear."Current Challenge Goals: Link to comment

puddletheduck
Love this thread! Tomorrow I plan to go through it properly and listen to the stuff I don't know. Always good to find new workout music!Mine:Linkin Park's Lost in the Echo, which has amazing, inspiring lyrics: Shinedown's Diamond Eyes, which is like the biggest sugar hit in the world but with the bonus of no comedown Plus it makes me think of seeing them live, which gets me crazy excited!Anything heavier/upbeat by Muse (Plugin Baby, Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, Knights of Cydonia, Cave, etc.).Anything Machine Head. Any of Halestorm's heavier stuff - I love listening to Lzzy growl Anything Bullet for My Valentine. Anastasia by Slash & Myles Kennedy. And finally, for when I'm in a silly mood and just want to have fun with my workouts, Foxy Shazam's Holy Touch or Steel Panther's Party All Day, F**k All Night Could go on but I'll stop there! iatetheyeti
It kind of depends on what I'm doing and what mood I'm in, and I get stuck on bands or songs for days or weeks. Right now I'm going through an Infected Mushroom kick, most played being Saeed and Becoming Insane. Not really all that motivational lyrically speaking, but the music itself manages to get me moving easily enough. Before that I managed to get stuck on the Borderlands soundtrack, though that was good for motivating me to do pretty much anything, work out related or not.
