lukekester
I turned 40 in July.I was not in a good place, either mentally or physically (see exhibit a)I'd read NF before, years back. I'd always found it interesting, but stuck to my own routines and diet and read it more as a bit of fun (on how to be a real-life assassin etc!).When I turned 40 I happened to chance on the site again. This time the site saved my life.I set myself a target of six months. I wanted to see something noticible by then...I enclose pics of the change so far....5th Aug to 29th Sept... That's two months... Now I'm interested to see where I'll be in another four! . . .I compare that first picture to the last two... I know who I'd rather be.I thought 40 was the end. Now I'm finding I actually enjoy the extra challenges of age, because a harder win shows a harder will... 4 Quote Link to comment

lukekester
Hi,Yeah, mosty paleo diet (still the odd donut or cookie!), and lots of increasingly heavy weights...Started of doing full-body workouts, then decided to split it into legs and abs one night, followed by one day of rest, then arms and abs, then one days rest, etc...I had knee problems when I started (agonising pain beneath my kneecaps, lots of crunching)...now I still have the crunching (that's age!), but NO PAIN!!...PS - Those 58 lbs diff pics of you are amazing... !PPS - This is the first time I've ever been on a forum, ever! lukekester
Thanks guys. Not sure how to reply individually (first time I've ever even posted anything on a forum...bear with me, I only just got a facebook account too!), but I appreciate your comments... It's been a rough year, but I'm heading in a better direction now. Might even start socialising again soon, haha! This site has really lent a sense of perspective. It highlights so well that everyone has challenges at certain points in their lives. It's stopped me always thinking 'it's just me,' and shrug off the sense of persecution that has been holding me back a long time ..... Quote Link to comment
Super Destroyer
Thanks, lukekester. I am doing paleo now, but I lost most of my weight eating low carb. Giving up dairy is tough, but I think it will pay off. Hope to look like you by next August. Quote "It is cutting time......" danceclojure
Holy wow. You look amazing!! You even seem to be holding yourself with more confidence in the second pic. It's so incredible that you did that at all, let alone that you did it in only 2 months. What's really inspiring to me is that (from what I can tell) you did it with an experimental mindset instead of a specific goal. Makes me hope that I can have the same success ... while not knowing very specifically what I want. Quote Link to comment
